^ Yes, you will need to do that.

I think ~7GB with all the latest patches. I am doing a clean install myself, so will let you know.

Size (pro) - 3.37 GB (36189,63,456 bytes)

Ya sure thanks..Also another query..I have 2 devices (Mouse+Kb) on usb and i have just 2 USB 2.0 slots on the mobo..So during clean install need to connect usb in the back and since i don't have space..will one of those multiple usb connectors work ?

Yep

or if it doesn't just alternate between mouse keyboard

He said it works on windows 7.

To be honest there could be a ton of possible issues. You need to Google and try every solution you can find. Does other headphones/speaker work on win 10?

My 1TB internal just died. Am looking for a 2TB HDD. Which one should I go for?

I was looking at WD and did my research.

Greens are no more. They are rebranded Blues now.

Blues are for regular Desktop PC usage but have only come in 5400 RPM and only have 2 years of warranty. Am concerned with it's quality. Will this one last a good amount of time?

Purples - These have 3 years warranty but this is what I read at WD Forums...

"These drives are designed for " it's more important to complete the read or write in the specified time frame than that the data written or read be correct" usage.

Which is pretty scary and putting me off getting the purple.

Reds - Built specifically for NAS and have the tendency to ignore reading of any bad sectors for more than 7 cycles/seconds, etc., compared to standard Desktop HDDs who actively try to read the bad sectors and if unable, they mark the bad sectors and then move on.

Blacks - Awesome performance specs but too expensive for me :(

Don't know much about Seagate but everybody seems to be avoiding Seagate, so yeah :P

What would you guys recommend?

@Alpha Any suggestions bro :)

Edit: By the way, getting a WD Blue 2TB for Rs. 5085 from Ebay after 10% off coupon :)

^ Hey man, where did you receive that Blue Edition drives are limited to ~5400RPM. Amazon is still selling them. Looks like the higher capacity Blue Edition drives (2TB on Amazon India) are rebranded Green's.

Either way, Seagate had a really bad track record in the past two years, lots of their drives have been failing of late.

If you cannot make up your mind w.r.t. these two brands, I would suggest you try to find Hitachi or SAMSUNG SpinPoint series drives and pick them up.

I would recommend the Red's and Purple's from Western Digital only if you plan to use this drive as a data dump but you will obviously have to keep an eye on them for stability and performance.

Yes, only the 1TB Blues are 7200. Any higher and they're only 5400, and at this point, it's comparatively cheaper to just get a 2TB if you're in the market for an HDD :)

I use my external HDDs as data dumps. My internals are used for downloading stuff and watching movies and doing regular work on MS Word and listening to work-related audio files.

My SSD is used for OS and games. Rest all happens on the internal :)

I'd say go with the WD Purple. I've been using a WD Purple 1 TB for similar kind of usage (downloads/data backups/movies/audio etc) for almost a year now. Everything is running smoothly.

Purple's have problems with sleep cycles or something, dont exactly recall the issue. Just google it. Likewise, google for red issues too.

I went with the Red. Here's an indepth comparison between the Greens and the Reds...

Reds do in fact offer a longer expected lifespan :)

Which AV would you suggest for Windows 7 64bit?I am using Bitdefender Free Edition since a few years but seems like it's blocking the full download speed of Uplay and Battlenet for no reason :( I uninstalled the AV and am getting my normal download speed with all game clients.

Have you tried turning it on and off? [emoji14]

I'm Sirius, reboot in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

Also do you suspect anything unusual in the task manager?
