Heaven Angel
Heaven what's your budget? I didn't thought of going towards the budget dude, I simply went looking out for a decent quality PC which would serve me atleast 3 to 4 years of above the mid settings gaming. These are the specs I'm targeting for. Haven't finalized anything yet. The more I dig in something comes up and make changes accordingly Take a look and let me know. Intel Core i7-6700K ASUS Z170 GAMING PRO GTX 1080 ASUS ROG STRIX edition 16 GB 2800Mhz RAM 240 GB SSD Cooler Master V650W Cooler Master NEPTON 240M / Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 240 cooler Cooler Master MasterCase 5 / Pro 5 Asus z170 Gaming Pro has lots of issues in ram compatibility dept Check before buying If you insist on asus z170 models I would suggest to go for MAXIMUS VIII RANGER which is 2k more than gaming pro Else check gigabyte mobos Oh man, I haven't checked that. This thing is really getting hectic now.

As some of you may know i have 6700k, z170 maximus viii ranger and gskill ripjaws v 2133 8x2 gb. Please let me know what is the solution to the bsods i get while sometimes restarting the pc, also only mortal kombat x freezes while playing it. I had given upon finding a fix. I'm looking out for Z170 Pro gaming with 6700k intel processor in it. How to see if it's generation 1 or above?
ALPHA17
How to see if it's generation 1 or above? If production / import is in mid-2015 then it would be an issue, anything beyond that is over that phase.
NitroNeo
Idk how to see which gen it is, but the problem i face is that if i restart the pc then, let's say i get bsods 1 or 2 times out of 10 on win 8.1, i am on win 10 now so the stat is i get bsods 2-3 times out of 10 restarts, once i get a bsod usually a memory management one, the pc goes into a reboot loop, each time it starts, it shows a different bsod until finally it goes into Windows recovery, if i don't turn the main power off on the first bsod, then even if i do it later and start the pc aftet awhile it stillwill go into recovery first. Only way is to turn the main power off on the first bsod and wait a while turn the pc on again to resume normal operation. I suggest not opting for skylake at all. HotSonix
If you are getting skylake and z170 boards you will have to buy the ram that says it's compatible in the spec sheet Otherwise go for h series . No over clocking but also no bsod sh*t and sudden restart issues Sent from my SM-G900H using Tapatalk
Heaven Angel
aren't the 'H' Series came before Z series? 6700k is compatible on H series boards?
NitroNeo
Nope compatibility is not ensured, my gskill ram has a compatible with z170 logo on it's box but still the bsod issue arises. Sent from my XT1562 using Tapatalk

ALPHA17
aren't the 'H' Series came before Z series? 6700k is compatible on H series boards? Launched around the same time. Stocks could have been delayed. There was a great shortage of processor chips during the launch phase vis-á-vis a glut of boards that were on offer. Yes. H series dont allow OC tho So 6700K is redundant Gets a decent ~200MHz -->400MHz speed bump over the stock Core i7. I would bite for a price difference of less than ~2000/- bucks. Always get the fastest you can get. Edited September 9, 2016 by ALPHA17

Looking to build a decent PC BTW what are you're specs if you don't mind tell us. Thread seems so empty compared to other threads. IVG don't have primary PC gamers? If you are building only for gaming I would suggest Core i5 6500 H170 pro gaming asus G skill 16gb ram 500 gb Samsung ssd evo 1 tb seagate hdd Corsair rmx 650 psu Asus rog strix 1070 Cooler master cabinet Decent monitor from dell/lg For gaming No need to get i7 since there is only 3-4 fps increase Use a k variant of i5 if you want , but change the mobo to z170 then.(check ram issues before buying ) For 1080p@60fps 3-4 year 1070 is enough ,no need for 1080 If you want 4k you need to sli 1080 and get a decent 4k monitor that would bump only the cards and monitor price to 2 lakhs

HotSonix
16 gb 2133 Mhz will be good or should I go with better? H and b series have 2133 limit so you are stuck with it Sent from my SM-G900H using Tapatalk
ALPHA17
H and b series have 2133 limit so you are stuck with it Even if he goes with a Z series board unless he tweaks around the XMP profiles the memory will default to 2133MHz. If this is the case then anything beyond 2133 MHz is a complete waste unless I go for another recently released motherboards.. I just wanted to ask that 2133 is good enough for high settings gaming?
