Don Karnage
^ Vista is a resource hog, avoid it at all costs. Any PC that allows you to run games under Vista will play them much better under XP so there's no advantage in using it.

The config you have mentioned is decent. You can play Bioshock easily with it under Windows XP. Under Vista, you will notice a decrease in performance, so you will have to adjust the resolution and graphics quality levels to obtain a smoother frame rate. Keep in mind that the 8600GT and 8600GTS are low end DX10 cards. You can forget about running Crysis with DX10 effects on these cards. If you are really insistent on using Vista, you should consider spending a bit more and getting yourself a 8800GTS 640 MB gfx card. That can run Crysis on your base config with at HIGH detail. Also make sure you get buy at least 2GB of RAM for your computer.
playstation
yes i will buy 2gb ramthanks for suggestion..about compatibilty xfx 650 utltra compatible with xfx 8600gt and what is overclocking? also is it easy to assemble the pc at home by myself and install the operating system. MarketTantrik
8600GT is a strict NO NO if you are interested in Crysis. And it is fully compatible with the 650i chipset. Overclocking is not recommended on the XFX motherboards. Going by your queries here, I would suggest you DONT try to assemble the system yourself. playstation
^^then i will have to give up on crysis for some time.how much will a 8600gt cost andas you say i should try to get it assemble by a profeesional rather than trying to be a genius. will 8500gt play bioshock prpperly i can upgrade it after some gtime and go for card like 8500gt if it plays at least bioshock properly. MarketTantrik
Its no point saying that you want to build a gaming PC if you are gonna skimp on the GFX card. I would rather, you choose a slower processor and use the savings to plump for a better card. The 8600GT is strictly okay for Bioshock at low res and medium detail. And if you touch the 8500, I will take out "supari" on your head.
playstation
^^ okay 8600 gt is minimum requirement if i want to call it a good gaming pc.
MarketTantrik
^^ No. It is the minimum requirement if you want to call it a gaming PC. A good one will have at least a 8600GTS.
Don Karnage
^ If you want a decent gaming PC you should go for the 8800GT or at least a Radeon 3870 (import is the easiest option). Assuming that you can't wait then buy a placeholder cheap PCIe card and save up to buy one of these cards.
ЯeVeЯse
Get the GeForce 8800GT or get the cheaper, albeit slightly slower, and newly released Radeon HD 3870. And do not get the 8500GT. It's not good for gamers such as ourselves. I'd do what MT suggested, save money as much as possible for the GPU so that you can ensure you end up with a good one. vinitwins
dont buy an amd x2-64, it's going to be replaced by their phenom cpus shortly. nvidia 8600gt vs ati 3850/70 is a no brainer - but i dont think the ati cards are available yet... fyi current gen video cards (fast to slow): 8800 gtx 8800 gt - current vfm champ 2900 xt 3870 - ati's answer to the 8800 gt 8800 gts 3850 - ati's answer to the 8600 gts 8600 gts 8600 gt V
MarketTantrik
^^ The Athlon doesn't have the longevity of the C2D. I would avoid ASUS MoBos like the plague after my last experience with them. Radeon 3xxx series will take a few months to trickle into India. MarketTantrik
Go for the E6650 and the 8600GT. Trust me, you'll never get around to another upgrade for at least a year.
