AtheK
There's *usually* a diagram on the label showing the jumper setttings, or the pins may simply be labled MA (master), SL (slave) or CS (cable select). And yes that is how it needs to be done.
Panthelon
are u not supposed to remove the jumper to enable slave mode? That's generally for cable select..
Aftrunner
There was nothing on the label. Anyways will try it out and see. Thanks doc jissein and everyone else.
DevilsOwn
ok "experts" a quick question about my rig. its a non gaming rig with decent specs.. core 2 duo @ 2.53 gigz. 2 GB ram. as my x360 is in RROD land, was thinking of using this to game. i found a seldom used Nvidia Ge 6200 card in my PC trunk. if i put that, how good or bad would the newer games run, surely not the crysis kinds, but still.. I hate to dissapoint you but almost all of the recent releases will not work on that graphics card. The few that do support that card will be unplayable because of shoddy framerates. My advice stick to some of the older PC stuff. There are a lot (and I mean A LOT) of awesome PC games that you could play that are just a bit older. And emulators. Catch up on all the awesomeness you missed out on. Zelda Ocarina of time, the Metroid games, all those JRPGs on the SNES. A lot of games still stand up to the best offered today. Edit Or you could just chuck a 8600GT on the system. Costs about 4k max and will play everything released till date at meduim details. Try and pick up a cheap used graphics card from Erodov or TechZone (I picked a 8600GT from here for 2.6k).

Panthelon
Does anyone know if the new x58 can support a QX9770 processor? The reason I ask is becoz the X58 has eliminated FSB and uses QPI (QuickPath InterConnect). Not sure if a 1600 MHz proc would work on this and I don't want to use an Nforce 790i board as this is outdated now.

Check with wired connection, if the drops happen. Also, do not use the linksys utility to manage your wireless connection, but use windows wireless zero configuration instead. Another system connected wirelessly to your network will also help narrow the issue. Does anyone know if the new x58 can support a QX9770 processor? I use a 780i SLi and I dont see it as being outdated for another 18 months at the very least. Tri SLi, overclocking capabilities, 1333 MHz support mean that this board (and the 790i) will hold you in good stead for quite a while longer. True that warrants you to not go for an upgrade but a person buying a new board right now is better off buying a X58 or other in line... Panthelon
Nope no CPU on FSB will work... As Aman said, it makes no sense for me going for the 790i as x58 is just released and it's a brand new tech with a lotta possibilities (talks of DX11 to make use of QPIs). I have a QX9770 (OEM) with me right now but I'm afraid I won't be able to use it. Will try and put it on TP but I don't think anyone would buy it.
