Windows 10 uses more RAM afaik, i have an 8GB dabba and it used around 1.7-1.9GB on idle, on a 4GB system things may seem sluggish
dylanjosh
Keep it on 7. Performance is better. It might have some security issues though.

lithuvien
Any views on this one? https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-Internal-Solid-State-MZ-77Q1T0BW/dp/B089QXQ1TV/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=samsung+870&qid=1598899362&sr=8-1 Cost is 10,237, which I believe is a decent price these days

Go for the Crucial MX500 1TB or Kingston A2000 1TB instead, both have equivalent performance of the Samsung EVO line( not QVO like this one ) for same price of 10K basically in samsung SSDs QVO == entry level cut down SSD, avoid EVO == Normal usage SSD PRO == Top of the line SSD's with samsung's best chips and controller, best in class speed and longevity
lithuvien
How about this one then? https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-MX500-1TB-2-5-inch-SSD/dp/B078211KBB/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=crucial+mx500+1TB&qid=1599042434&sr=8-2 Also, do SSDs come bundled with cables or do I need to purchase them separately? If I need to purchase them separately, then what kind of cables do I need? Pointers would be helpful
dylanjosh
Usually its your motherboard that comes with the cables. They're called SATA cables.
lithuvien
My motherboard came with 2 cables only, what I can gather from the product box and both of them are in use. Guess I need to purchase them separately them
dylanjosh
If you know any PC repair shop near you you can ask them also. People dealing in computers usually have many of these cables just lying around.
lithuvien
When I had gone out a couple of weeks ago, all computer shops were still closed. I'll go out this weekend to check again. Or I might get this one: https://www.amazon.in/SNDIA-Mounting-Bracket-Degree-Latch/dp/B01GBE29AC/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=ssd+mounting+bracket&qid=1599045177&sr=8-8 Edited September 2, 2020 by lithuvien

I replaced it with 8gb ram 1600 mhz and installed windows 10. Now the pc keep crashing every 5 minutes. It shows a blue screen and some error comes up. I reinstalled windows 10 and same problem. Should i revert to Windows 7 ? Or is there any issues with Ram or something ?

Swap back to the old ram and see if the issue still happens.

You might also want to check in BIOS the ram specs and what speed they're detected and board compatibility. Also try resetting the BIOS.
Keano
If I pick up a 3080 (EVGA's FTW variant) - will I have issues getting it in my case? My build is in my signature. Edited September 15, 2020 by Keano
