Guys!

I am comparing Evga Superclocked 216 GTX 260 with eVGA GTX 280 having 240 cores.

Is it worth spending extra 3k ?

I won't be gaming on a resolution higher than 720p

at 1360*768 GTX260 gets the work done easy.

Need some help getting my system to play GTA 4 online

Got the game installed it , activated it , proceeded to create the social account and also got the windows live account , got them linked too.

Now when I try to connect , it gives me a network error

Internet IP Address says " not signed"

PC account is blank

UPnp is blank

I have permissioned gta 4 and windows live on my firewall (sygate). I have installed the mandatory latest GTA4 update patch along with hot fix for windows live .

Googled the issue and found that these two need to be ok

# Port forwarding must be enabled on the TCP port 80.

# Port forwarding must be enabled on the TCP port 3074.

Tried port testing and both of them timed out. If only the ports are the issue how do I get them working?

I have enabled Upnp on my router and my connection is always on type ( dont know how else to describe it). Its a BSNL connection and i use a sterlite MT 882 wired modem.

Spent a lot of time trying to troubleshoot and failed. Please help

Guys, I'm randomly getting a distorted/fuzzy picture on my monitor at times, sometimes while switching on the PC, and at other times when the OS loads. The computer hangs when I get this as well. What could be the problem?

Could be

1 The monitor itself

2 The Graphics card

3 The GPU drivers

Best bet is to start by reinstalling GPU drivers.

Follow Up:-

Remove the RAM , Graphic Card (If its not a onboard solution), use an eraser and clean the connectors.

IF your using XP, then make sure error reporting is turned on, and post the dump file here.

If the OS HANGS, without a blue screen, it could mean that there's an hardware fault somewhere (HDD/RAM/GPU) and something that POST wasnt able to detect.

How much for the cooler master?

I recently picked up a Tagan 500W to power my Palit 4850. Good build, works well and costed me Rs 3850 (vat included)

@Aftrunner, I re-installed the latest nVidia Series 8 drivers, but the situation hasn't improved :(, couldn't take part in the GI contest due to this annoying problem as well

Alright mate, I'll try the eraser bit. How do I get the dump file from error reporting?
