Xpadder is your friend.

Works with every game ever made.

Yep. Works flawlessly with my logitech controller. I can create multiple profiles and the overall setup/button mapping is very simple. Great for use with emulators and old games. Highly recommended.

Ok guys I'm having this weird problem while playing Crysis Warhead...

It's a bit difficult to explain but here goes...

I have a 22" monitor and my desktop resolution is always at 1680x1050 but whenever I switch to 1440x900 in Crysis Warhead I can't click on any of the in game UI buttons. They all seem to be offset to some weird co-ordinates. I CAN click on them if I manage to move the mouse pointer around find the "sweet spot" and I get the little button "hover" effect but it's a pain nevertheless. I can live with the menu screen behaving this way but it's a bigger problem when I'm trying to customize guns in-game... all the clickable areas are offset.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

PS: One think that just struck me and I haven't tried yet is switching my desktop resolution to 1440x900.

EDIT: Nevermind. I fixed it. Just ran it in windowed mode and then pressed Alt+Enter to go full screen. Problem solved! Now I can click on the buttons properly.

I bought a PCI USB 2.0 4+1 port for my computer yesterday. the computer is a very old Compaq Presario ( P3, 866mhz and 256mb ram :P )

The computer is detecting the ports but it's showing me an error during the installation of the hardware. Whatever i do, i cant figure out how to update the drivers or make it detect it.

external HDD powers up when connected to the port but it doesn't detect in the PC. pen-drives dont even get powered up

what do i do ?

btw, i think it's an intex pci usb port. and it shows as via usb enhanced host controller or something.

any idea what i can do ?

I was thinking of downloading

crysis 1 demo

but i'm not sure if it will run. COD4 was the last game i ran on my PC.

Here are the specs

System:

Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)

Processor: Intel® Pentium® M processor 1.86GHz

Memory: 510MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Display:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6400

Display Memory: 128.0 MB

If it works then i will get the full game but before that i have to ensure that the demo will work

Not worth it. Even if it works (and thats a very slim if) it wont be playable. It would be at best a powerpoint presentation.

My advice with a PC/laptop like that is to get into either RTS or RPGs. Or games released pre 2006. Catch up on some old PC games. If you look past the dated graphics there are some absolute stunners you can play.

I have a brand new HP mini-note 2133 laptop with me now. It did not come with any OS installed except Freedos. The laptop has no CD/DVD drive. It has 2 usb ports.

I'm having trouble installing WinXP on it thru the usb drive and one of my friends finally managed to load Ubuntu onto it via a USB pen drive.

I want to load XP onto it but the external dvd drive i have is not even being detected by the laptop. What do i do ?

Is there anything i can do for it to detect it ?

and plz answer my previous query too if possible. ( few posts above this )
