ALPHA17
With the larger hard-drive space would not you be able to use PSN+ service and play a couple of games free every month? And does not installing the game on the drive ensure a smoother experience or is that only a problem on the XBox 360? That is as far as I know about the PS3 let the other owners pitch in. silentassassin
go for 500 gb... Buy 12gb , only if you are gonna play it very rarely ... U can download lot of games from PS store for pretty good price.. Also most of the PS3 games will install data in the HDD..If you buy a 12 gb PS3 , u'll have to delete old game data every time you want to play new games.. aRch-0n
In before lock, use the appropriate threads. Also it's better to get more storage because you can get good deals on Digital content + game data + save files also tend to f**k storage capacity up. meaNmachine
12 GB is not enough. Get 500 GB model. Many games have "mandatory install". Without installing some "game data" on your PS3 HDD, you can't play those games. MGS 4 - 4 GB Skyrim - 5.5 GB GTA V - 8 GB
dante77
for a moment I thought its some kind of a tribute to PS3.
Aftrunner
12GB aint gonna cut it. Tons of games have mandatory install. Most of those installs are GBs in size. 12GB is only good for a Blu Ray player. Or maybe if you only ever play 1 game at a time. No idea what Sony was thinking with this one. Still better than a 4gb dvd xbox, where you cant even play certain game modes if you don't own a proprietary MS drive

piper
The latest is the super slim, looks like this : You can go for the 500GB one if you want good storage out of the box. If you buy the 12GB one, you can buy a mounting bracket and add any 2.5" hard disk to increase the capacity. Tutorial here.
