Seems screen replacement is removed for 10% cash back. Man it was such a life saver, saved me 15k.also I see gear VR offer is also gone.

I picked up an insurance, guess u can do that too.

Its mostly theft protection. No screen replacement.

That offer was great. :(

Btw what case do u use?

The insurance I picked has screen replacement too, and any physical damage.

Not using any case anymore, screen broke when it was in a case. I am more careful when I don't have a case and I like it nanga punga. Also the fact that I have insurance helps [emoji14]

Any easy way to install it?

Get the apk, install it. buy package disabler pro app from play store, apply trial, disable theme services. Clear data for theme service.

  • 4 weeks later...

Guys, point me in the right direction if this is not the right thread for this question.

I need to buy a new phone for my dad.

1. Prefer Android

2. Would like to have no (or as few) pre-installed apps as possible

3. As large a battery as possible.

4. Smaller size < 4"

Is there a phone that meets these requirements ? While budget is not an issue if it is < 15k, it will be great. He will be reluctant to use phones any more expensive than that.

EDIT: No gaming / fancy apps usage. Mostly phone calls and messaging.

^ Get the MOTO G4 Plus and be done with it. Meets your requirements, has an easy to understand UI (stock Droid) and good battery life. You can go for the cheaper non-Plus variant in-case you do not require the finger-print scanner.

Sadly the era of compact smartphones is dead, everything ends up being ~5" or larger.
