reviews are out, initial impression looks good.

700 nits brightness is a bit less for flagship.

Fingerprint sensor placement isn't good and no underdisplay fingerprint.

Ip52.

Gorilla glass 3 when most flagship are coming with victus.

No telephoto lens..

These are the cons I could make out from reviews. Otherwise looks like a solid phone.

3 or 5?

I think major drawback is

1. Peak Brightness

2. IP rating

3. no telephoto lens

Fingerprint scanner i won't say drawback. The fact it is bloatfree makes above point liveable with, and when you add the price, it sounds amazing.

It's mentioned 3 in one review.

Ya, those 3 are main drawbacks. Still price is quite attractive. Will see how Poco Gt4 and Realme GT are as they are also launching in few days.

ya he screwed up, saw on FK it is 5, so that is very good, just one below Victus.

also the fact that you get 68W charger in the box is huge plus.

Nope.

From Moto's website:

"Body

Front: 2.5D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 with anti-fingerprint coating

Rear: 3D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5"

I don't have a problem with lack of telephoto or type of fingerprint sensor.

But lack of IP68 rating and GG 3 on front is not great. I don't want to take excessive care of the phone.

700 nits is not ideal.

Charging is good. Yet to see if they are handling extra heat of the SoC well enough or not. Early leaks showed that Moto was running quite hot.

Cost makes sense now.

Most reviews state they haven't seen any heating issues.

Look where we have come. Trying to find a decent phone which just works. A phone from moto comes and we desperately want it to be awesome! I am on the same boat too!

But this is sad for Android. We desperately need new mobile phone companies.

The Pixel A series seems like the perfectly balanced phone. Not too pricey and fancy. Does the job well. I really wanted 5A to be released in India. Hoping for a 6A now.

I don't have much of a problem with this.

On S9 if you bypass this protection, even on Exynos PUBG runs 60fps locked but entire 100% battery lasts just 2 full games.

Gets crazy hot.

Just different attempt at throttling, every manufacturer does this.

If a 4 year old exynos can run a game at 60fps, locked while the latest Snapdragon can't do it. Do you really think a manufacturer is not throttling its latest?
