been using the tytn ii for a few days now - pretty solid wm6 phone (no other phone has better specs... for now). adjusting to the fact that it's a PDAphone (not a smartphone) BUT even then it's a all-round device that i'd happily carry in my pocket (it weighs 190gms!).

Android

Its Google's new operating system for mobiles. Linux-based and made in collaboration with 30 other companies, it's Open source, so anyone can develop applications for it.

How much did it run you for? I'm getting a new phone next weekend. Trying to decide between the Nokia E90 and the Apple iPhone.

32k + 4gb mem card (2500) + screen guard (400) - yes, it's a lil steep, but it *can* replace the need to carry along a laptop...

heres what i can do with it (yes, most of this is possible on any WM5/WM6 device, but this phone has decent specs viz. 400Mhz CPU + 128RAM and a slideout QWERTY keyboard):

GPS

google maps - detailed india city maps (downside is that you have to pay for EDGE traffic when you are out of a wifi spot)

mgmaps - can use offline map tiles (very cumbersome to configure, but if you get it working, then it's a godsend for indian gps users)

Internet Radio / Youtube streams

3MP Camera - great pics (but no flash and shutter speed is pretty slow)

General productivity - Ebook readers, Mobile Office, IM/Email, EXCELLENT NET BROWSING

full SIP support

Video - can play most xvids without the need of transcoding/reconversion (even over a WIFI connection)

Gaming - runs NES/GB emulators pretty well (but lack of direct access drivers makes PS1/SNES emulation kinda slow)

ps: have also ordered for a 12pin USB to stereo female adapter so that i can use my regular headphones

The price is good. I got my K-Jam a couple of years back with a 2GB card for about INR 32K. So, its par for Windows Mobile phones.

But I'm seriously digging the Nokia E90, even more so since signal quality is of prime importance to me.

From personal experience I can testify that Windows Mobile phones display below average signal strength and call performance. This is the only reason I am inclined towards the E90 and iPhone. Otherwise it would have been the Tytn II for me too.

had been using the treo before the tytn and this new phone is MUCH better in terms of signal strength and voice clarity (not to mention killer network scan speeds - i.e. when you wanna switch operators while roaming)

ps: forgot to mention i've also been able to remotely control my home pcs from my work site (using edge connectivity :ranting:)

Yes, I knw theres more support for Windows mobile but to me all its applications and display and features appear stereotypes, unlike Symbian, where you have Network Operator support with many contents and everytime you can do different things with your mobile. Though once u load ur windows mobile with extra contents, its ready to rock.

According to your requirement Windows mobile is " The Best ".

I like Linux OS to be best according to its looks and features even though it has least available support as compared to other platforms.

Btw I knw a site with thousands of Windows applications and latest games and videos with its username and password...want it Vinitbhai??

was searching for a mapking crack and i found it! thx!

ps: mapking offers mumbai, delhi, blr and chennai gps maps - possibly the only commercial software to do so (other solution is to use googlemaps which needs a data connection OR a java app like mgmaps that can access stored map tiles, but downloading those tiles is a headache best avoided)
