Well the Spica replacement is the i5800 which has a weaker proccy and lower reso than the Spica but better than the wildfire, it was supposed to be available in the Indian market by July end/August first week. I checked in a couple of stores and they had no idea when it will be available. One store fellow even tried to convince me that the Galaxy 3 is the Galaxy S.

Trying to get a mid range Android device in the Indian market atm is effin frustrating.

For all the people fighting over whose phone is the slimmest and smallest, here is the phone of the future..

And yeah, it receives all calls without losing signal as well..

Not sure if there is a Cell Phone Help thread so I will just put it here:

I brought my Nokia E63 along to US thinking I will get a new SIM here. Turns out, the quickest option for me would have to but a Go-Phone from AT&T, get it activated and then take the SIM out and put it in E63. Now everything went fine until I put the damned SIM in my E63. After that, it just would keep losing the signal and popping a message, "SIM card registration failed". If I put it back in the original phone, it works fine.

Now IIRC, an India-purchased E63 is supposed to be a quad-band phone, so it should work in USA. Am I missing anything here?

^^ it should have worked but why did you buy a go-phone? You can easily buy just the sim (prepaid) from any AT&T or T-Mobile outlet.. especially at the airport they give out sims for free generally (with 0 talk time and you just need to charge them with some money)

The camera is the main USP of the phone. Otherwise the SGS blows it out of the water seeing that they're similarly priced

Ya that's what i read 8MP camera with xenon flash....As my phone hunting is still on !...So wanted to enquire..

Anyways if anyone can get me an iphone 4 (16gb) for 30k i would go with it..otherwise have to settle with a SGS...

Alright, so i need you guys to help me out with this, I own the Lg gw620 (android) phone and the thing is I purchased this phone 3 months back, now lately m having alot of problems with the phone, it gets stuck, doesnt recognize the touch pattern, sometimes i gotta press the call log button to go to the messages and sometimes all these problems dont appear, now i used to own an htc tattoo six mths back and had the same problem, is this because of the whole touch screen interface ? (The memory is pretty much empty except a few songs and photos) havnt installed Apps on it as well, so how do i resolve this ? let me knw asap or recommend me a new phone under 12k ?

 . As Shantz has mentioned below, its easier to pick up a prepaid card from T-Mo/AT&T. I use a T-Mo prepaid card whenever I'm in the US.

Would like opinions.

An exchange of my N79 (for free) with a Nokia X6. What do you think I should do? Take it? Or just let status quo prevail?

It's cos my dad doesn't like touchscreen phones (he wants a keypad) but then he was dead set on Nokia (when I told him to get a HTC phone or the Spica instead) and ended up buying the X6 (which was the only recommendation I could give based on his Nokia fetish).

No, I'm not asking for opinions like "Buy an iPhone" or "Galaxy S is secks!" ... just between these 2.

X6 if you dont mind Touch Screen

I don't. He does. These days I don't really need to hide my texting though I sit in the first bench at college. Finally in my 4th year. Part of the reason I went for a non-touch phone (well, back then there was just the iPhone as an alternate when I bought an N79 3 years ago)
