dante77
Sorry man, just kidding. Get the Nexus S my personal opinion. You have 3 options Galaxy S, Nexus S and Optimus Black. Read few pages back we've already discussed about it. Go for Nexus S as it will get ICS for sure, the same can't be said about Galaxy S. Nexus S negatives are No HD video recording, No radio. But I don't think these are very necessary compare to what you're getting. Also, its own gingerbread is faster than galaxy S one. And just to let you know I've only used Nexus S (which was not mine) never used galaxy S only heard that its quite laggy. Noctis has it he mentioned it but then again gramps said it can be fixed. EDIT: OR you can wait for galaxy W which looks very promising but no one knows its release date. It was supposed to release in september. I am waiting for it myself Edited October 8, 2011 by dante77
Mizanurification
Nexus S doesnt have expandable memory too.. but ill still advice u to get Nexus S instead of galaxy S. MarketTantrik
If your Dad's in India, its better to buy one in India.

MarketTantrik
Unlocked phones are more expensive in the US and you dont always get the best models.

Aftrunner
Guys anyone tried the Xperia play? I currently have a Samsung galaxy but thinking of giving it to my dad as his Iphone doesnt do 2G which he needs. Xperia play seems like a good option. It can run emulators and thats pretty much all I need out of the phone aside from multimedia capabilities. Also its out of stock on FK. Has Sony discontinued it? Battery stand-by is okay-ish, but not what you'd expect from a gaming phone. It's very fragile and as big as a hard co.....well you get the point. The screen brightness is too low, even on the highest setting. Get ready to strain your eyes a lot when using it in the sun. I don't know if any custom firmware improves the brightness (anyone on that? Of course, I'm talking about the more important bits that most people forget when they consider this phone. As a gaming phone, it's pretty good, I guess. Apart from that, videos are good to look at coz of the good GPU. Don't get me wrong, it's a good phone, just not worth the money IMO. _Hellsboy_
galaxy note or nokia lumia 800 ? Neither. Note is too big and lumia has like a total of 100 apps(yeah yeah I know I am exaggerating). Go for the S2 IMO
