  • 3 weeks later...
does anyone know the approximate grey market prices for HTC diamond and touch pro?

also are there any better/cheaper alternatives to these besides iphone?

peace

I can tell you better :

Sony Xperia X1 but this one will easily cost 40k when it launches. Touch Pro legit costs like 10k more to Diamond so about 36-37k i guess. Grey market prices might or might not be less because international prices are almost the same i think.

There is also S740

Looks nice and all but it just seems ok maybe because of lack of a touch screen i guess

thanks prince.....the touch pro costs more than the diamond? didnt know that.....how much is the diamond? is it available here officially

peace

np

Touch Pro = Diamond + Sliding qwerty keyboard. I think Diamond is costing these days 26k with bill and is locked with Airtel. I guess you can get Diamond for 22k in grey but i am not too sure about this.

You can also check out Samsung Omnia but HTC > Samsung simply because of XDA Developers.

They also went ahead and ported the entire Blackberry Conenct software to Diamond so basically you will never need a blackberry device. You can also check out Blackberry Curve i guess.

Basically what kinds of things are you looking to do with your phone ? Also when you are picking a WinMo based device, do look at proc, ram and rom because these things are very crucial.

If you are looking for a Nokia cum Blackberry style phone with good cam , do check out Nokia E71 which costs 19k. Its a very good device and i have played with it. Also try going for a VGA screen based phone like Diamond simply because of high resolution.

its from my brother....he needs an unlocked one coz he;s in australia, so he'll need to use an aussie sim card....also i heard jailbroken iphones wont work in aus...is that true?

i dont really think he needs either of these highend phones....he just wants a fancy one.....i guess wifi and a good browser would be a must and he travels quite a bit so the more featrures the better

peace

jailbroken iphones will work anywhere.... and if he wants something fancy and with a good browser .... dont look beyond the iphone.... perfect for his application.... u cud get a 2g iphone for arnd 23-24k in the grey market(but its rare) or u cud go the legit way and buy a 3g and use yessim or ts to unlock it till a software unlock is released....

E71 imho.

yes E71 has some amazing features...QWERTY keyboard, dual standby screens, GPS...(20 K)

but N95 has a great Cam & Big Screen.. (19.5 K - 1 GB version)

time to check some reviews now....
