egg man
Feature wise wattsapp can do everything bbm can do, but with more platforms. Same with skype. Unless you wanna feel that you are a part of cool exclusive club i don't see how they're better. And siri, s voice or anything hasn't evolved yet to a level where it can replace doing the task using normal actions. Maybe in 5 years voice technology will and then it should be a defining factor., but not now. Ps.. Google jellybean voice search blows ios 6 siri out of water, just check some videos Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3
Solitaire
I tested out Siri earlier today. Apparently it doesn't recognize Indian names. Wouldn't register Goa, Amitabh, etc. However, it gave me really accurate results for other questions, albeit basic. It'll work perfectly fine if you're out of the country and/or they update Siri to be more "India friendly". I intend to hit the Apple Store tomorrow and quiz 'em a bit more, see if there's some sort of a patch or update for this issue. I can't get myself to get used to Android. I've been spoiled by iOS. Definitely won't be an S2 or S3 for me, unless there's a budget constraint. Tried Shahrukh Khan with Google Voice / Google Now just now on JellyBean and it registered it just fine I sincerely doubt the Apple Store folks in India are gonna know anything about any patch that 'fixes' it for Indian names/accents. Even IF such a thing existed

Even IF such a thing existed True. You can't expect them to answer something like that and I don't really think that they will make any change to make Indian names work or recognizable. Also, Indian names work fine on Google Voice(tried a lot of them).
Unrealistic
I have no idea what the issue was, but it had nothing to do with my accent. Siri wouldn't recognize the names when i tried voice-text either. Will get the local staff to give it a whirl before I make a decision. Bhpian Bali
I am in a major dilemma. I have been using a Samsung Wave 8500 and it comes loaded with Bada which is Sadda (Stale). When I had bought it the screen was big enough for me but I slowly realise the mistake I made by not going for an android cellphone in the same range. Now it has been 2 years since I have been using this Sadda phone and have decided that my next mobile is going to be an HTC. I have chosen HTC one S but since it has relased with a 2 year old chipset I dont want to buy the S3 Chipset wala HTC ONE S.. So I am thinking when my budget is 30k instead of wasting it on a product with old technology should I go for Htc One V that comes with 3.7 Inch screen? Even V comes with a 2 year old technology and is for 17k but got ICS in it. Or should I just wait for HOS to come with S4 Chipset? I have taken a VOW not to ever buy Samsung products so words like Galaxy S2, S3 and Note do not mean anything for me. I feel Xperia S should be less than 25k but it aint so I am not buying it. HOX is too big though I wont mind a big screen but I dont want such a big cellphone. According to me HOS is the perfect phone to have but for the outdated chipset. And when they do introduce the S4 in it I would feel bad that I bought same way in case I buy HOV it is at the end of the day a 3.7 Inch Phone. I browse a lot on my phone. It is a pain on Wave already with 3.3inch screen.

However funny thing is, the build quality of S8500 was 10 times premium than S3 with its metallic finishing.

No doubt the build quality is good.. The only thing is I dont like is the depreciating value of these cellphones.. Even if I buy a cellphone now I use it for 2 years Minimum. That can be a prob in case I go for HOV.. And with HOS I dont want to be stuck with a phone that will receive a hardware upgrade in few months time but I dont want to wait as long for it to get one as well.. AtheK
One x comes for around 33k pick that up and all your problems are solved, and though it is big at 130g you hardly feel its there. Edited July 16, 2012 by AtheK

TheHitman
Go the import route for HTC One S. You will get the newer chipset and costs around 26-27k incl customs and shipping via SNS...

Why HOX over the S3, if you don't mind me asking? Considering how small the screen is on the iPhone 4S, I might consider the Galaxy Nexus or the HOX/S3. Was just curios to see why you'd recommend the HOX over the S3.
AtheK
For one simple reason Build Quality, S3 still feels like a cheap plastic phone just like Note and S2, it just does not feel like a 38k phone. If we have to take three best phones in market right now just on build it will be Iphone >Hox > S3. My recommendation is purely on Build quality, S3 might beat HOX over the benchmarks by few points, but that hardly matters in real life. Also on second thoughts the price difference is close to 6k in two phones now, i think its 6k well saved Edited July 16, 2012 by AtheK
ThE JuGgErNaUT
@ Unrealistic : check out both phone's. build wise I'd say Apple is definately awesome. bght the s3 recently, reason over HOX for me were: 1) expandable memory 2) looked better (to me) 3) better resale value in the market of samsung phones in general. 4) the shop owner was adamant (close frd with my brother) looks wise s3 to hox (both white) i preffered the s3 white, but boghout the blue one as I'd feel funny carrying a white phone (personal choice/ psycho issue )
