It's actually a goof up by sony, they have kept the status bar and the bar below as grey, Obviously Blacks are not as deep as AMOLED, but very good for LCD screen, that said i thought One X black were a little better. Just download some black wallpaper, you will see blacks come up real nice. there are already mods available to turn them to black, need to root the phone. Also the pics on wallpaper look a little washed out, as compared to seeing them in the album(because of BE2 engine), app to fix that is also available, but as again need to root the phone. Can never ever bear to have a case on my phone. What is the point of buying something that looks so good and then covering it up. Sure the risks are there but you got to accept the trade off. -------------------------------------------- also, guys.. how is Xperia Z ? am thinking of a new phone in coming 2 months. Common consensus suggests waiting for S4 and while it may have impressive pedigree, i just cannot come to terms with the flimsy plastic that S3 and S2 have used. Haven't seen S4 up close yet but it looks to continue the tradition. I have used s3 for a while (not my own) and it has great speed and top notch software, the hardware leaves much to desire, just my opinion. Recently looked at Xperia z and it looks so good. Not sure about its working capacity though, any heads up ? And can anyone please tell me a list of good phones that have come in 2013 or are coming in the next 3 months ? Price ~40k. The Wolfy among us Posted March 25, 2013 Report Share Posted March 25, 2013 Right now S4 looks to be more about software gimmicks and the Octa processor, which is anyways useless considering Android has not stepped up enough to use that kinda hardware. Also it doesnt seem like a radical shift from the S3 in terms of form factor and materials used. Go for the Xperia Z or the HTC one. z's released, and it's pretty impressive to look at and hold. S4 may have better specs and numbers but Z has a premium feel to it and I am pretty sure performance in real would be mostly same. Also, black looks better IMO. The XPERIA Z comes in a glass casing, a la iPhone and Nexus4 back. So in-case the screen shatters the individual pieces will be held together by this, same on the rear. Weight -- 145g The hTC One and a few other SONY XPERIA (SP and L) come with a aluminium frame and no this does not make the handset too heavy. Yup what the dood's above me have said. The Xperia Z's front and back are covered by glass. It's like a glass sandwich with electronic meat in the middle. Looks really classy. That said, the screen has bad viewing angles. Looks amazing when looking at it head on, but at an angle it looks washed out. The HTC One's back is made of aluminium. will be sturdy, iphone 1 levels of sturdiness. Reviewers are saying that the One has one of the best screens they've seen yet.
