Even if it don't detiorate, I would rather buy a decent good brand phone than buying a high end cheap brand. No offence to anyone, I respect and I can perfectly understand

the real problem begins when people here (at least in my area) say - "Abey itne me ye sab mil raha hai warranty ke saath to kya brand leke kya karega"

Ya te screen sensitivity touch starts detiorating over the time, but keeping the audience in mind, it's an awesome phone for his father in law.

True , in his group/age a phone is just a phone. It's either a touch phone or not and that's the only specification that they are aware of. No worrying about updates or which OS or apps or lags. His fingers are much slower than the phone itself, so he'll never ever find any lags :) .

But I used it today the whole day and it's not bad at all. Even if it works for a year , it's worth every penny. I know it will not go so well with some people here , but when my friend saw it he was quick to say is it grand ? Reply : no better than that. :D

^^ The fact that you even considered a Samsung phone, will help me make some jokes on you tomorrow at office. You are an outcast :P

Whatever you might say , Samsung caters to all segments with equality. With the same design and look across the models, they are helping us Indians fill the gap between the rich and not so rich people.

On a serious note, grand quattro at 16k is very good branded option over the Chinese counterparts, as someone above pointed out that people prefer branded.

India overtakes Japan as third-largest smartphone market

Not surpised here. Almost everyone is getting a smartphone in India now. Hopefully, this will lead to more Indian companies that will produce good phones at cheaper prices.

Yep it's a craze amongst the people in my village, esp the lower end models. I have even noticed that they are very big consumer of 2g data, due to almost non existent Wi-Fi network. No wonder ambani is betting big on 4g

^Yup. I had workers at my place and it was regular for them to carry movies on their phones to watch everyday. A new movie, every single day. Was pretty cool to see that.

Yeah man, my cousins used to be cling took their phones at night. I was happy for them, thinking that they are talking to their gfs and are getting laid. Once, I saw them, chutiye log were watching srk movie on their phones.

IMO the 1st wave of reliance changed the face of telecomm industry, now the 2nd wave of data headed by elder ambani would change the manner in which we use the network data.
