A screen replacement for the One will not be more than 10K. So you should go for it. Plus if it's maintained well, who knows, maybe you'll be able to sell it off at a good price later... Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Do they replace the screen for free if you break it due to your own mistake?

No man. Accidental damage is never covered under warranty

In fact I don't think you can get a screen replaced for free unless it has some inherent problems in it like touch sensitivity etc.

Other than that, screen replacement will always burn a hole in your pocket

I would still recommend to not buy without warranty. There are dead screens and what not. Even six sigma companies are allowed 6 defected pieces in ten million.

What if you end up getting one of those six. Bad luck cannot be overlooked.

What if they just refuse to service the handset outright? Samsung does not service the out of country phones

That's an altogether different issue. The fact that he wants to get his screen replaced (and that too for free :P) would suggest to me that he is at least within the geographical boundaries of the warranty..

No free replacements unless you can prove that you didn't damage it, or the problem is such that you couldn't have caused it.

Also I just remembered that once when I'd gone to get my screen replaced for my HOX, the guy next to me was refused service on the grounds that his phone was from the US (EVO 3D) and the parts were simply not available.

I guess it's down to your luck to get it serviced. Also if you're brave you could try places like Gaffar Market in Delhi :P

Buying one without warranty is always a risk... But if the price is right.....

What I meant was that, there is a fair chance that service center guys would refuse to even repair the phone, forget about warranty for out of region phones. I don't mind imported phones, I have used them for a fair bit, they have the most resale value in comparison, but I wouldn't use one for more than 6_7 months to minimize the risk. Also, at&t phones suck, the UK factory unlocked phones are lot better

If you're getting warranty for 2-3K extra, its absolutely fine.. But, If the difference is 11K, you can actually think twice. I bought the One for 44K.

You almost pulled me to agree with you. But i think its still wise to get it under warranty.. And i did not quite get why the difference is so high..tax is 12.5 percent...there must be some dissembled fact to this deal...

They are not gonna refuse to repair the phone. Never. Its why these service centres are up and running. All they want is business. Thats it.

I was denied. I am talking about the official service centers not the dealerships. Any 1 else tried to service their at&t phone in india?

Kind if surprised, most of u are oblivious to the fact that most of these phones are either insurance frauds or contact defaults

I know... Even one of my own relatives , who has gone to uk as a student last year, actually feels proud to sell iphone4s 's to some guy in gaffar at a very low price.. Of course all the phones are projected as stolen to the insurance compaines out there..

What astonishes me most is that guy thinks he's not doing anything wrong and its all legal and the weird reason he presents to his conscience is that he is paying almost 3 times the normal price when he buys the phone on contract...

That is why i had mentioned that there must be something hidden in deal.

bhai, not to hurt your feelings - but Pink - seriously PINK ?

Edit: also buying HTC One and then using a case is like buying a BMW and then driving it with sear cover plastic still on, or worse withe car covers still on. It is a phone and it will have wear and tear, understand that and enjoy it as it is, a beauty.

PS: I do not use any cover (not even a screen guard) on my iPhone 5.

I was looking for the white color, duh. I'm going for this specific case coz It's so sleek, you wont even know it's there. Hence, the name!

Also, I prefer my phones to be in pristine condition. I din't use any case or scratch guard for my 4S either. After a couple of months there were visible scratches at the back of the phone. IMHO, you wont spoil the looks of your phone if you choose the right case.
