Moto G is a rock solid phone, no doubt. You don't have to worry about service at all since Flipkart is exclusive seller. They will pretty much take care of everything. If you're desperately in need of an android phone right now, look for yourself what you like http://www.flipkart.com/mobiles/pr?p%5B%5D=facets.price_range%255B%255D%3DRs.%2B10001%2B-%2BRs.%2B18000&p%5B%5D=facets.type%255B%255D%3DAndroid%2BPhones&p%5B%5D=facets.screen_size%255B%255D%3D4%2Bto%2B4.5&p%5B%5D=facets.screen_size%255B%255D%3D4.5%2Bto%2B5&p%5B%5D=facets.screen_size%255B%255D%3D5%2Bor%2BMore&p%5B%5D=sort%3Dpopularity&sid=tyy%2C4io&ref=9b16bc95-eb3a-43fb-82fb-541c02654c5b

I personally would rather wait..

I am looking for some audio control+music pause/resume, forward/backward headphones (like ones we used to get with music edition of N-Series phones.)

Need them for my Note 3 & it would be great if I could use them on other phones. But if they only work on my phone it's fine.

I can manage the budget for a good pair. Also can the same functions exist on a over the ear wireless or wired headset too? Oh yeah and it sould pick up calls too.

So i went to Auto expo and delhi last week and my s3's display died off at the hotel, on Saturday. I woke up to see that it has fallen down. There was a led sort of blue spot in the top, near the notification area. And pink colour started appearing to the top. The pink colour began spreading throughout until the bottom and the top portion began to get blackened and by next day, the full screen was fully blackened. But on sunday, I was getting calls and although i cannot see a thing, i could take the calls by swiping. But, at the airport i turned off the phone and after turning it ON, when someone calls my number it says, "number is currently unavailable". I have replaced my SIM couple of times, but no use. The phone turns ON, because i can hear the turning ON theme music and the two touchpad buttons are working too. Since its passw protected, i cant do anything like swiping to unlock the screen.

Went to service centre and they quoted 5750 for the entire lcd unit+diigitizer+side silver finishing. But if its having any other issue, i may have to spend even more than that na. I thought of selling it for a new one. But, all local shops have asked me to repair the lcd and then sell.

So, my doubt is, is there anyway I can get the display to other device, like via HDMI or so, like we do in laptop, so that i can make sure its working properly before changing the LCD. If its working properly, I wouldnt mind using it for another couple of months after repairing.

And what do you think about the resale value that i may get if i sell it after repairing it. Its 1year used. signs of usage are present are very much evident on the silver finishing, but they said after repariring it will look close to a new one. But even then, if I have to sell it, i have to mention display changed na. So, what pirce can i expect?

Further, I cant sell it without factory resetting it. So, my next doubt is, is there a way for factory reset without using the display ? If i could get the dispay on some other device via hdmi or any cable, then i could do a factory reset that way too.

Requesting all gurus for their advices :)

I had the same issue with my S3.

It's a problem with the screen only. They would change the complete screen, the panel sorrounding it, and the side silver beading. It will look as good as a new phone, and you can up the resale value easily.

You have to mention that the display was changed when you sell it, but you will get an additional 6 months warranty on the screen.

When I sold it, I sold it for 20k.

Looking for a good camera phone for my mom, budget 5-6k, she is not used to handling touch screen phones so a keypad one is preferred, if it has a torch then it would be great.

^ No Note 3 prices won't be affected much till the Note 4 makes an appearance.

I would look at the following handsets,

  • SONY XPERIA Z1 / Z1 Compact / Z
  • Nexus 5
  • SAMSUNG Galaxy S4
  • hTC ONE

^ What do you want to do?

Overall I would say the Z1 or Note 3. The ONE has slightly dated hardware inside it.

And if you are not in the race to get a tawaa, the Z1 Compact is a solid choice.
