Guys I am looking for a dual sim phone for my mom. Budget 10k. I have absolutely no idea about which brand to go for. Please suggest some good phones in this range.

Bump the budget a bit and get moto g gen 2

^ Following,

  • NOKIA Lumia 530 / 630 (Windows Phone is remarkably consistent and friendly to older users)
  • MOTO G (1st Gen)
  • Redmi 1s (if you can bag it)
  • Android one handset

Have you personally used it? How is the battery life? Since I need it for my mom so want a simple, easy to use phone which does not crap out on me after just a few months.

I am using the older Gen 1 device, far, far superior in every aspect save the lack of expandable memory. Battery life that pisses on all flagships (save the XPERIA Z3 and compact), respectable build and decent components that manage to strike a reasonable compromise for the price you get it at.

Stock Android further sweetens the deal and the phone shall get the latest 5.0 flavour in the coming months.

1s

The UI is not very friendly.

Wishing you and your families a Bright, Happy and Prosperous Diwali.

My parents have Lumia's as their daily drivers, I have mainly been dabbling in Android.

The Windows Phone UI and design philosophy makes them really easy to get basics sorted out, something that is an issue on the Droid's. Although once you get habituated, Droid has a lot more to offer and its adaptability makes it the better OS.

Either way, going with any of the above devices save maybe the Xiaomi, you will ensure your mother a comfortable and straight forward experience. Cheers!
