I can help. Not sure how this works though, lol

EDIT: I have SBI Simply Click card. @radicaldude - let me know if you want to go ahead.

Thanks.

Even @Ram Dante has offered help in this regard.

I'm just trying to look at reviews after the Android 12 update. Though I want it, but still I'm super confused.

hopefully someone here would throw some final thoughts on the device post update and ease my conundrum out. :D

Confusion increases.

Popular advice is, the price is unbeatable wrt to the camera performance specifically.

- There is no better camera at that price point.

- Stock Android. Looking at some of the absolute turd Android skins out there, that matters.

- Super compact and comfortable to use.

- Google has, so far, offered no indication that they will be releasing P5A or P6 in India.

So, at around 23k, 4a is still a good purchase.

Android 11 no doubt ran like a nerds wet dream.

What about Android 12?

True and the price is epic. No competition to the camera either but at this point of time, I think the proc is quite weak. I myself suggested this phone to both of my brothers last year and it is going fine. My concern is, it starts of to lag under some heavy usage. The apps sometime takes longer to run/perform. When installed too many apps, it tends to suffer even from normal usage and this age, we tend to install a lot of apps. Some work related, some personal.

My advice, if it is your secondary phone. Go ahead, there is no better phone than this. If using as primary, its not gonna last much.

That and the design is just too boring imo in today's time

Guys I need some help.

The reason I shifter to pixel 4a is purely due to the camera (and also the size to some extent). I was (and still am using ) the asus rog phone 2.

Now I am yet to migrate fully to the pixel (sim card, account synchronisation etc). However I took some random images from the camera. The images that came out (attached here) feel a bit odd. I have read countless reviews about the camera and have seen hours of video reviews. Some shots shown in those reviews were awe inspiring.

However I don't know if it's me or something really is a bit off in the images. Cant point to what exactly. Maybe the sharpness, dynamic range, the warmth or maybe the camera shoots like this only. Even the portrait mode feels a tad off (wrt edge detection. The background blur feels artificial)

Can you guys compare these images with the ones shot with your (pixel) and let me know if something is actually off in my unit or I'm just overthinking.

Ps- these images are directly from the phone sans any form of post processing. Would the processing improve once I fully set the phone up (thus connecting to the internet) or do I need to get the unit replaced (or maybe this is the way it shoots and I should stop overthinking).

Thanks in advance

Tagging pixel 4 a owners @Bird Bird Bird @quixote_1989 @dante77 @cyberpunk and other owners of the phone (I have missed).

also tagging @Anshul for some inputs with regards to final image quality

Pixel takes more true to life images than most other phones. Hence you'll find the pics muted wrt Samsung etc.

You can also try HDR mode to see if it makes a difference.

Face portrait mode is pretty good, but you do see edges sometimes with other objects. I've clicked many pics of my daughters, and edge detection has improved a lot over previous Pixels.

Of course, portrait are all AI magic.

Do use the Photos app editing features to see how you can edit these photos. Some editing features are exclusive to Pixel lineup.
