MarketTantrik
V. take a look at the Blackberry Pearl. Great all rounder but web browser isn't up to scratch. I still say the E61i is your best buy. Its got the best mobile browsing experience after the Apple iPhone. Why dont you try out GI on the phone and see for yourself ? Apart from that, its got everything you asked for and at a fantastic price.
Chaztin
E61i looks bad but is carrying really good features. @MTbhai, I chkd blackberry couple of days back, it has annoying joystick like ball!! Better then that is E61i!!
MarketTantrik
^^ Actually, the ball is very cool and much easier to use than the old Blackberrys' scroll wheel.
Chaztin
I found it very uncomfortable actly!! Joystick is much better!!
vinitwins
my requirements: screen size 2.5" at least 240x320 at least qwerty preferable adequate ram for OS operation (64-128MB) 200Mhz processor for non touchscreen and 400Mhz for touchscreen/GPS GPRS/EDGE Wifi preferable BT + A2DP USB Symbian9+ OR Windows6 2MP camera at least (with flash) Java FM preferable GPS preferable 250h standby 2.5/3.5 stereo jack digging deeper, my new shortlist is as follows: N95 - currently on top of my list (5MP camera!), fulfills all my requirements, reports of speaker crapping out iPhone - great screen, no MMS/FM/GPS, hacking is a pain with new firmware Nokia 6110 - good features for the price and it has GPS! no wifi, reports of PCB short-circuiting? HTC 730 - good winmobile 6 smartphone (not PDA), no FM/GPS, some reports of out of RAM errors leading to frequent resets Nokia E51 - excellent value for money, no GPS, no flash, and a 2" screen! But even then this is the phone for anyone on a budget! Nokia E61i - awkward form factor, older 3G implementation, no AD2P, no flash, no stereo jack (pop-port only), no FM/GPS but it's cheap and has a 2.8" screen! lastAvenger
oob 1.1.2 wont be unlocked but once your iphone is jailbroken you can install mms application so u can cut that off plus Gps will also work using navizon application. Its not a proper gps but still works great [ something similar to what Google Maps latest thing does ]. Do you want internet radio or the normal one ? cuz there is an application that can play internet radio easily.
vinitwins
^ whats the difference between unlocked and jailbroken? V
lastAvenger
^ whats the difference between unlocked and jailbroken? V Unlocking ~ I can use any sim card for my iPhone and i am not restricted to operators like AT&T, T-Mobile, Orange etc [ Depending on the region of the iPhone ] Jailbreak ~ It means to hack the iPhone to install applications. There is a distribution system similar to that found in linux as iPhone runs on OSX which is based on Unix. Btw just so you know, the next update to the iphone ie 1.1.3 will be bringing host of new features one of which is found in Google maps i.e. similar to GPS [ Confirmed ], Group Sms'in [confirmed], rumors include MMS, Camera will be enhanced and will have more features. Right now its just point and shoot and nothing more. SDK will be available in Macworld Conference so u don't need to even jailbreak your iphone since authentic and originals software will be available through iTunes. [ Might have to pay ] Now if you compare it with Windows Mobile 6, WM6 has loads and loads of applications. Can get practically anything. My opinion would be that if touch is not your priority then don't go for the iPhone [ Speaker sucks just so you know ]. Look around for models like Samsung BlackJack2. A week back i had read an article on Tech2 about Hp's upcoming new phones. I was really stunned by them since they not only looked sexy but were just too good. I had given a link to Chaztin as well so he might recall. Look out for those as well. Are you really keen on using GPS ? or you would just like it as an option to be future proof also how long does a cellphone last before you buy a new one ? An average would work as well. Fire Wolf
@V, if you really want GPS then you could get a non-GPS mobile and a GPS receiver for your PSP - costs around 2k at Play-Asia.

lastAvenger
Those look ugly. There was a pretty cool video showing all of them and some of them looked slick. Btw If i understand well, Chaztin you had sold your Nokia E90 right ? because it had problems. Lots of people have asked me to stay away from E90 due to many software related problems. Btw i am getting another iPhone in the next 3-4 months for my mom Edited January 7, 2008 by lastAvenger
Fire Wolf
@Firewolf- W960 3rd in Rank ratings according to GSM arena!! ^ i knw u will surely get that!! W00t I dunno, it's a really sexy phone and has many features, plus it's a big improvement on the W950i. I just hope it gets to around the 20k mark when I buy it. Plus, I love Sony. I'll buy either it or the iPhone. By the way, is it true that iPhones sold in Dubai are unlocked? Does anyone know the price of the iPhone there? EDIT: @Chaztin, it's Rank 2 now, below the N95 Edited January 7, 2008 by Fire Wolf
vinitwins
really liked the features on the E51, but the screen size is too piddly, and the 6110 seems to be plagued with hardware failures. not particularly fond of itunes, so i'll steer clear of the iphone. have never liked windows smartphones (they keep crashing, seem to be laggy when compared to their palm brethren) so that scratches the s730 from the list as well i guess i'll upgrade to the N95 (from my treo 650) - really wanted to pick up something different as everyone i know has a N95 V
Fire Wolf
V, if you can stretch your budget to 25.5k, then go for the w960i
