vinayakb
I have a Samsung 42-inch LCD tv, and I pair it with my PS3. I have a backup inverter, so the UPS is required to save the TV+PS3 during the power switching. . How much KVA should I look for in the new UPS? Any suggestions for the brand/model? sameuun
get the dedicated power supply for ur room upto 7 hrs, invest in gud inverter with sinewave , connect fan, tubelight, and ur precious PS3, TV, etc etc, 800-850 KVA wud suffice, look for microtek inverter,
vinayakb
Good suggestion, thanks. problem: inverter already purchased, cannot re-invest for a sinewave inverter so soon; atleast I can buy a UPS so that the TV+PS3 use the UPS, and then I can turn them off safely. So, the 800-850 KVA suggestion was for the microtek UPS or inverter?
Razpor
there are many apc offerings in that range,i am not really upto date with the current pricings, but you should be able to get a good step sine wave ups in the range of 4k to 5k,i got my 1000 va one for around 5k .Try to get an APC piece, they are usually much more realible than microtek and others, though microtek has improved quite a lot in recent years, but go with an APC. farzi gamer
Get any 600VA UPS. I use a APC BackUPS 600VA for my 42" TV & PS3. Works fine. The APC you use has a waveform of pure sine wave or modified sine wave? It seems that the general recommendation has been for a pure sine wave, just wanted to know if a modified sine waveform UPS has worked fine for you, and could be invested on. Cheaper APC UPS are not pure sine wave designs. If you are looking for pure sine wave design based UPS be ready to shell out ~11500/- for the SUA750VA model (which is the starting if I am not wrong). APC BR-650VA (minimum) / BR-700VA or above will do. Also, next time create your own thread or place such queries in the PC Experts Thread. Hope this helps, Cheerio! The Alchemist
I am also looking for a UPS solution for my TV+XBOX, the issue is that the XBOX power chord is of 15 amps which doesn't fit into the socket of most UPS, can i use a converter which will enable me to connect the 15 amps plug into the UPS power o/p socket without harming the XBOX? Any suggestions would be of help ..

Any suggestions would be of help .. I doubt the Xbox pulls 15A current from the socket. Verify that first. If it doesn't use that much current, just use a simple adapter and enjoy life.
