reddevil23
Hey nice to see someone playing this here. I have been playing this version since FM 09. I've got the demo. I will buy the new version later this week after my exams. Then we'll play.
DevilsOwn
good to see more FM players here. I know a couple more on IVG who play this religiously. Have been playing every year since its Championship Manager avatar days!
reddevil23
bring them on this thread. The more the merrier. We can discuss FM stuff here. I even used to blog about that on a site called FMcrowd which is now defunct. I have moved the older stories on a wordpress page.
Heaven Angel
I never got around Football Manager but have played EA FIFA manager a lot (06-11. After that quality went down to gutters). Since EA decided to shut down FIFA manager, I'm thinking to give this a try. I'm looking for some 'hard' not stupid-scripted management where you get to lose no matter what. So few questions before buying: 1. Is database up-to date with proper player names? 2. All major leagues and tournaments present? 3. How is transfer window? 4. Can you view/interfere game in-middle? 3D engine? 5. Can manage international games/teams? 6. Has press meet, etc, cool managing stuff? 7. How is player growth? 8. How does multiplayer mode work? Really worth buying? I'm seeing lot of negative comments on Steam. Thanks.
Dark_Knight
Bought the game a few days ago on steam. Have been struggling with the tactics part. Whatever I try, the AI seems to get used to it after 4-5 games and I start losing again :| Basic FM tips for a n00b? Or if there's a blog post about it or something then a link would be appreciated! Try FM Base. Loads of tactics and guides there. I recommend reading the The Better half and Raikan007 guides especially, those guys are the master of anything related to FM. You can learn loads from those. I suggest you pick one of Raikan's numerous tactics (and they would be many like always ) which suits the formation and style of play you wish to adapt. Also try different tactics for home & away and do note that game sometimes tricks you too into not letting you win especially after a streak. Also download the training schedules from here. I recommend Dunc's training as I've had good results with them in the past and he focuses on youth training separately. Loads of little things matter greatly, you press conferences, tones in PC & when talking to players, pre season training schedule, high focus on tactics in pre season, training schedule focusing on strength of your team rather than a general jack of all trades one, support staff (ofc), particular attributes of players which help in different situations and how you motivate and many more. I spend many a hours in previous FM games but have stopped playing them now. They can utterly destroy your social life as you know it
