they cud've implemented both, but anyways as others said, the game's made like that so it's ok

Actually though I don't mind the camera not changing much after playing the demo once or twice.... the first time that I played the demo (right after finishing stuff like Infamous and RnC ToD), I kept nudging the right stick hoping the camera would change.

^^ but still with no free camera movement , u can't see the full surroundings.

They could have given the side rolls option on one of the buttons.

I am so used to playing games with free camera movement that this feels like its forcing us not to see elsewhere but to see only where it wants us to.

Everything else is top notch in the demo , this is the only con I found.

Even games like POP Trilogy had the camera fixed for a few instance when climbing ledges etc. but then it comes back to free camera movement once u hit the ground.

Yes the camera need not have been fixed.... except where they want us to look at specific stuff like Helios flying around... Still I think it'd be MORE difficult to fight the hordes of enemies that come at you from all directions in certain cases unless you got the specific camera angles the developers planned for you

Chill guys! It's not like the first two God Of War games had a free camera anyway.

And it's done on purpose, GOW is all about epic set pieces and large scale action sequences and the devs want to make that the focus. The camera in the first two games did a pretty decent job of doing that. It's only in a very few places it falters, especially tight areas that involve platforming puzzles.

Dude why are you going so defensive, i personally think the first two could be cause of hardware limitation, not so with PS3, and yes they can have an option of free roaming along with fixed camera, its players choice.

I for one totally am pissed of that the camera is not free roaming, GOD DAMN IT i want to see what is behind me and not roll every time i want to do that. I said that before i am saying it again, they should take a note from UC2.

Can someone explain me why God of War3 demo despite weighing a mammoth 2.6gigs managed a max resolution of 720p??

Though the game is said to have 1080p :( native resolution in its retail release!!

Most probably cos it was rushed and final retail copy will have it fixed, though with PS3 limitation and what they are trying to achieve in GoW3, 1080p might not be possible....specially with 60 FPS...

Samwa Bhai .. thank you once again for helping me get the demo on the very first day :P .. played the demo over 10 times already , and the feel is the same all the time.

BTW , any details revealed about the contents of the collectors edition and the price ?

EDIT ::: Google helped me :P

I will be happy with 60 fps at 720. I agree with Ty on the camera - action games like GoW are supposed to be a cinematic experience and a default camera works nicely.
uc2 delivers a cinematic experience without fixing the cam :P

i was irritated with the fixed cam when i played gow3 demo for the first time because its been ages since i've played a game with a fixed cam but i'll be happy with a fixed cam or not :P
