Pushy Posted February 28, 2010 Report Share Posted February 28, 2010 This game is not like NG 2 nor DMC 4 !!! Where everybody expects and the game disappoints. I always believed in Sony Santa Monica and their GOW franchise, where they always keep on improving on every iteration. Im not hoping too much Im hoping that is for the better of GOW III. If the game is 10-12 hrs. Then Im sure certain gaming magazines will point out. U name me more than 3 SP only games that r epic with story below 5-8 or even 10 hrs( No multiplayer/Co-Op) Don't say Bioshock, That game is atleast a 10+ or more than 12+ when played on normal searching everything. Yes. Dude, there isn't a single Hack & Slash Game that I have missed not even Onimusha!! And ur talkin about DMC, Its Hideki Kamiya's 1 of the best and a true inspirator to GOW. Thank God u havn't said DMC 2 Btw, ofcourse I was talkin about DMC 4 (this gen.). DMC 3 had a little backtracking but thats OK not like DMC 4 where u have to kill each boss prob. thrice. I would take 10-12 hr action packed game with lots of replaybility (even w/o a co-op) over a 15-16 hr game with fillers. latest example is bayonetta. the story is crap but combat and enemy design makes u coming back for more. Since todays gen. H&S games r really short, So thats 1 of the imp. reasons why I wanted GOW III should have a 15+ hrs. length. (15+ only if u consider it on Normal searching everything) Uncharted 2 is not like standard this gen, It broke the bar with 12+ and we have seen its reviews that it got 0 complains on its length like Uncharted:DF. the same case with Heavenly Sword. They can make 15+ hrs entertaining. fill me in...i haven't found a single game which has 15+ hours that kept me hooked up to my seat...this gen...forget gen's though coz on PS2 there was DMC3 and MGS4 that kept me hooked for eternity, apart from them tell me one game which is 15+ hours that has OMFG moments though out and no fillers...like i an say that the entire play of that game which is 15+ hours was awesomesauce... As I said don't count last gen. bcoz most of last gen games were of atleast a 10+ campaign and nowadays 8 hrs r standard length unless they arn't RPGs. Only thing I can count is Uncharted:DF, that too I don't think Uncharted:DF story is considered as 1 of the best in the likes of Bioshock. As we know no other action game had that much of playtime so y not GOW III since its the closing part of the series like MGS 4. This game deserves a good length. IMO. indusporus Posted March 1, 2010 Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) ok...yesterday I was playing GoW2 again and I think the game already revealed the story of GOW3 in the room which you enter after killing Sisters of fates (I think the room is called Inner Sanctum). There are three pictures in that room which says: 1. The raging war between Titans and Gods 2. A single man stands among the dead 3. Three people travelling towards unkown destiny(and those three looks like a girl, woman and a man).. so kratos gonna kill both GODs and Titans and retrieve his family back..?? and for all those talking about the length of GoW3, try playing the game on Hard mode the first time itself. I seriously doubt that you can finish anywhere under 15 hours..even if you don't bother to find all redorbs and other chests.. As for the 3 ppl heading somewhere , thats a biblical reference But but this is an Olympian game...a completely unrelated one to the three men of bible traveling towards the star... Ne0 Posted March 1, 2010 Report Share Posted March 1, 2010 (edited) I guess that honor is for Manhunt But still need to play the demo to decide. still at 89.2%. damn I m getting impatient!! on the scale of 'distrubing' yes, manhunt wins hands down. You kinda feel guilty at times playing that game. But gore/violence wise, nothing I've seen so far, beats GOW III. You pull out eyes and intestines and in HD detail....there's a scene in the demo (which was shown in the trailer as well), where kratos beheads a person with bare hands. Anyway, this gen has lot of such games like gears of war, fallout 3, ninja gaiden, dead space where gore/violence is abundant. But GOW III takes it to a whole new level. Play the demo, you'll know.
