Aftrunner Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 Saw the video for the first time in HD. Its definately ingame or at least using the game engine. And it looks quite good, nothing earth shattering or unbeliveable but still quite good. I hope like the previous two games this one as well goes for size and scale in levels rather than shoving more polygons in. The art direction in the series has always been second to none. Snake Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 For me,even if the game looks the same and it releases...i would still buy it and play it to death....for me GOW was never abt gfx(although its a plus)...its abt the story,abt gameplay and the badass-giri of Kratos....I WANNA RIP DEMON HEADS!!! and also have a foursome along the way!! Also the gauntlets he is using..they look like cerebrus heads....maybe u get it after killing them at the gates of hades or maybe hades himself!!! I think people are a bit disappointed that there expectations were too much and it just falls a bit short....well lets wait for some more traielr/vids...personally for me 20 seconds depicts everything that a GOW game should be. Aftrunner Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 (edited) I think people got taken in with the Jaffe hype. Watch it with fresh eyes and you will see its quite impressive. Good texture detail (esp on Kratos), nice lighting and some detailed backgrounds. What more could you have expected? Its not and was never going to be Crysis. Like I said before if with that level of graphics they can keep the sense of scale that GoW games always have this will be freaking epic. Jaffe said the footage he saw at Santa Monica (one he described as 'painting coming to life') looks nothing like the VGA trailer. It's not going to stop me from buying the game. Im a GoW fan at heart, its the reason i bought a Ps3. But just because im all that, doesn't mean i can't criticize it. Keyofx Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 It isn't the graphics that are the problem. I just watched it and I didn't see anything that wasn't in the first two games. No doubt it will be stunning when it comes out, but the action in the trailer was quite underwhelming. And Kratos has been after vengeance since I played him in 2005 (I think), so that isn't new either. What I would have liked to see was some new environments.
