I tried playing remastered version but left in middle somehow it didn't clicked with me I was always comparing it to tomb raider and it was lacking something .i will give it another try in future .also does UC 2 and 3 are different in terms of gameplay or same as uc1 with no crafting ,upgrades etc.

All 3 UC games are identical in terms of gameplay.. All of them are super linear and full of hollywood style set piece moments..

 

 

UC4 looks quite different in gameplay with more emphasis on player freedom than crazy scripted set pieces...It looks more like TLOU in design than first 3 UC games...

 

 

Just play UC2 and then jump to 4 straight away...Avoid UC3 as it's not that great in terms of gameplay nd all..

Try UC2. If you dont like it then just skip the entire series. It's not for you.

Recent tomb raider games are rubbish and they don't deserve comparision ...it is sad to say this ..coming from big TR fan...so much that i have actually been inspired by TR....stupid things like crafting and that too same thing in each game...Tombs have become optional...and what you get from explroing those tombs are now techniques to hunt and craft...and then at times it acts completely like uncharted giving those explosions and action scenes..that game has gone into drain ..even though i must admit some platforming and all were really nice but that is all to left now.

 

UC does what it wants to... that is give action packed experience indian jones style but TR is a confused game now....

- Vehicles react differently depending on terrain.

 

- Rope can be utilised in most gameplay encounters. Has multiple uses.

 

- From the beginning Bruce wanted to get back to figuring out the core gameplay.

 

- Combat designed with Nate's traversal moveset in mind.

 

- Climbing system in UC4 has been completely overhauled. System gives unprecedented level of fine control with full analogue control over both of his hands

 

- Characters traversing with you were scripted in the past games. Now it is very systemic.

 

- Bunch of stuff on AI being smarter with new flanking behaviours and better awareness etc. They have the same traversal abilities as Drake

 

- They really wanted to avoid stop and pop gameplay with the player sticking behind one piece of cover.

 

- A lot of the stealth elements from the Last of Us brought over so the player has more choices in combat. You can break line of sight and sneak past them

 

- Used to be you were in stealth or combat. Now you can be in stealth, they go into investigate when they think they've seen you, then it can go into combat and once they lose you they will go into search.

 

- Melee is far deeper.

 

- Lots of new tools added but in a way that is elegant enough to not explode the game with HUD.

btw does it really take an entire month for copies to reach everywhere?

Maybe when the demand is really higher than expectations, especially for limited editions?

 

They probably delayed it to let R&C breathe. They couldn't have delayed UC4 as R&C's film is coming out the same period.
