Not watching jack. Gonna keep my excitement going by not watching anything. Seriously guys just spoiler the gifs and stuff. Don't wanna see anything. Or maybe I shouldnt enter this thread.

doesn't spoil anything tbh. its one of those sections that'll be more fun to play than to watch. they just introduce the new mechanics for the jeep, environments, and character.

 

the old trailer is more spoiler'ish in what happens to them and the jeep later on.

To me, it looks like people are trying their best to make every thing in the game look as something new or never before in the industry just because it is a Naughty Dog game!

I mean you can say that for every medium of entertainment out there.

 

There are always exceptions. New ideas(risky or not) are implemented in those 'chindy-bhindi-indie' games. Sometimes they work(Rocket league is the most refreshing game i have played in a very long time..I know it's a sequel but there are more examples too), but sometimes they don't. AAA games usually don't take the risky path, but refinements and innovations are made there too. It's just a matter of scale and perception if you consider them big or not.

The prequel is called 'Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars'. You can see why many people don't know/remember its name.

 

Every indie game doesn't need to be a 2D pixel-art based game. Counterspy(2.5D), Nova-111(1-D but not pixel-art), Limbo(2D special), The Witness(3D puzzle) and so on are great games.

Indeed. In terms of games, Call Of Duty 4, TLOU,MGSV(gameplay) are prime examples(from the top of my brain) of this idea. They are one of the best in their respective genres(overall too) but that's because they perfected and refined some already existing ideas as much as possible with a bit of their innovations.

"Scully: Sam, what were you talking about?"
"Sam: eeh.. oh right! Point is we have it pretty easy. ...".

I know, and it is not just limited to games, look at the sh*t they throw on your faces in some random movies, directed by some action director who is sh*t level at best, what has the world come to.

I love this attention to detail.

thats what i posted in my first post of today. But you know stuff like that is pretty common in games.

 

what makes it impressive is that its not a scripted sequence and completely dynamic. and all and most might actually never even get to hear it. another eg is when he drives fast through the water and its sprays them all over they ignore it but when drake does that again sully says something like "this is my second shower of the day" or something similar . again completely skippable by driving through a different route or more carefully.

Levels are truly open, much bigger than TLOU. Although that means it's going to take quite a while to collect all the treasures. Gameplay seems much tighter and fluid than the previous games( rope swings kOs are cool). Looks like it's going to be ND's finest work yet(i hope so).
