Art direction, lighting also looks better in this uc4. Only textures would look better on ACU cause its on PC.

 

Uc level in demo is big enough to be called open world too. Only free roaming won't be available

 

I hope you're just joking. From what I have seen, ACU's art direction is so far ahead of what was shown in the UC4 demo it's not even funny.

 

And you can't call a game open world just because it has big levels.

Art direction is a subjective matter and more related to the developers vision thanhow powerful a console is. Games like the new legend of zelda, captain toad, rime etc look better than any other game out there currently.

 

The only impressive part about unity on consoles is the interiors. In Outside areas the game looks slightly better than black flag and runs way way worse. Its also missing tons of little features like the mc clothes getting wet, cant pick dropped weapons, npc being braindead and completely useless unlike previous game. Ac unity is a game that should have never released this year and judging by the drop in sales ubisoft should/will be very worried about next years game.

Also ACU load times are HORRIBLE, just using fast travel once gives you a long a*s loading screen. Really bad even when compared with other open world games.

Default HDD is quite slow on both consoles....Get new one and you will notice improvement in both load times and frame-rate in many games...

Those are terrible load times for an SSD upgrade, they're suppose to shave off more than half of loading times like they do on PC. Can't blame it on drives though when PS4 still uses same SATA 2 interface from PS3.

 

EDIT: Also Halo 5 is 720p, please don't talk about it here in the current gen thread

Of course it is, you're spending five times more money. And it would be well worth if loading times went from 40 seconds to 10 seconds like on a PC.

Yeah one of the reasons I went with 7200 rpm 1TB drive instead. An SSD drive with same capacity would cost as much as another PS4, and then shave off 10% of load time. If your time is really that precious then you shouldn't be playing videogames

AC: unity is the only game i've played so far that this gen tha has this atrocious loading times and its not a one time load like many open world games. to overcome the developers incompetence i need to spend another 20k on getting a new SSD. great logic.

Exactly. Loading has been super smooth or almost non existsant in any ps4 game that I've played so far. It's so bad in acu that instead of using the fast travel system I actually just preferred to run my way to the objective locations. That black horrible loading screen kills the mood completely.

 

@zodak I was actually planning to get a SDD soon, thanks to your vids now I won't be getting one

Sorry to bring back those posts, Anyway OT :-

I have recently downloaded the Full Demo from the link provide few pages back and not the color correction one RGB. It looked beautiful to put it simple.

 

There is no need to discuss on the attention to detail, foliage, draw distance, Cut-Scene transition, Gameplay changes and pacing. Pure Awesome. E3 15 will seal the deal on its visuals once we see this properly in full glory. Still a whole 11 months away...

i downloaded that 2.1 gb file myself and it looks incredible & unrivaled at places. although if you watch very closely you can def see drake's model switching right before the he starts controlling him. didnt notice any loss in detail but it def changes.
