But why do they need to release everything in fall? That's Microsoft's forte, they like to bunch up everything in 2 months and let the entire year go dry. Last year they had 1 (one) game released for first 9 months, and it was Kinect Dance something. I would rather have them spread out throughout the year like how Nintendo does it.

And they did give them fall window, if they slipped past it no-ones going to give them another 12 months.

This might as well be the last console generation as we know it. With platform holders struggling to release polished first party AAA games in the second year of the console and flagship titles being pushed to the third year, it's a really sorry state of affairs.

One can only imagine how expensive it has become to develop these games. To the point that a single flop can ruin a studio. Expect more derivative crap this gen. Oh and tons of indies.

Excuse me, what's the link between a AAA game being expensive and the console generation? It's upto a studio's ability/artistry how they build a game and exhibit.

It seems every big releases are being delayed twice/thrice in a single year, who to blame? Game studio's or console developers.

Nobody gives a sh*t about indies unless they are given for free, it's just a way to make the console owners entertained.

Yeah i dont get the release evrything at fall mindset. Almost all of last year's fall exclusive didnt set the sales on fire. With the big publisher aiming for fall every year it makes sense for these guys to just put out maybe 1-2 games and wait till the dry season. This year we're. Confirmed to get new treyarch cod, ac victory, star wars battlefield(front), maybe homefront 2 and the annual spirts titles. I also think either witcher or batman will bail out of their release date once again and go for fall.

What good is it right now

It has sold 600k at launch & sales will just decline with so much bad word of mouth ,it will sell bit more than a million at tops

Depends on whether they care about the ip. Uncharted is a textbook example of this. The game sold very poorly in its first month(lower than lair) but they believed in the title and the word of mouth was good. They started bundling the title, gave it away on igc and now its one of the biggest ip of last gen.

Killzone 1 is another example, where despite getting poor reviews and sales they persisted with it but that was mostly because they didnt have a fps in their stable whereas they already have uncharted and tlou now.

Uncharted 1 was a great game

That's why it sold well over time

Order is not even good

It's bellow average

I don't think there is going to be a Sequel

If Sony funds enough money there might be one..

Yeah ppl don't buy Consoles or spend money on high tech screens RAMRAMs & GPUs to play indies on them

That's why we'll see more & more semi AAA indie games like No Man's Sky & Hell Blade

These 2 should've been a major AAA titles, bigger world, more content, better gfx and long gameplay, Especially Hellblade ..

Indies se bhara para hai pura PSN Store ab toh.. and these f**king episodes.

Now devs are adapting the whole Telltale concept, Life is Strange, RE Revelations ..

Games ko episodes me bana ke chu**ya bana te hai.

Games hai ya TV Serials. :wallbash:

Most traditional retailers make over half their revenue in Q4. I'm not sure if that has changed any with digital, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't.
