Uncharted PS4 Writer Amy Hennig Leaves Naughty Dog

 

Amy Hennig, the creative director and writer on the Uncharted series, has left developer Naughty Dog.

Numerous trusted sources close to Naughty Dog have verified Hennig’s departure from the studio. She was writing and leading development of Uncharted PS4. Her final day at the studio was Monday, March 3.

Sources claim Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, and explained that Uncharted may now come under their control.

Hennig recently celebrated her 10th anniversary with Naughty Dog, where she served as director and writer on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves , and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Her work was recently profiled in IGN’s The History of Naughty Dog.

We’ve contacted both Sony and Naughty Dog for comment and will keep you up to date with any developments.

Update: Sony has verified Amy Hennig's departure. A representative told IGN, "We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted."

Awesome news..UC4 will have epic story now unlike first 3 games imo......Neil Druckmann is a much much better writer than Henning imo....TLOU absolutely destroys UC in story imo.....TLOU story is right up there with RDR and original Bioshock for me....

 

 

This is seriously awesome news....Now iam really excited for UC4...

Uc and tlou are totally diff stories, comparing is pointless. If you make uc like tlou it would fail utterly.

Ya but She had it coming...UC3 was not as good as UC2..It was a huge disappointment for many UC fans.

Yeah. If the forced out part was true, hope she has some issues. Else Naughty dog becomes the bad guy here. Ppl always leave naughty dog lol, all the initial founders left the company.

the lead designer also left them in 2012 and now teaches game design at some university. him and henning were the brains behind the UC ip.

Mark cenry is freelancer. He isn't part of ND. He is just design consultant of sorts. He is also archetect for vita and ps4

Sry he isn't cofounder, he is first employee and did half of the code for their first game crash bandicoot.

 

His profile mentions he is 1st employee and I thought 1st employee means a cofounder but was wrong
