Have to politely disagree with this statement, i have played the previous games and like them as much as i liked this, and there are many others also just like me. It was a really good game but one really cant enjoy it if he/she generates hate for it even before trying the game just because some others do. i_rock098 Posted January 4, 2014 Report Share Posted January 4, 2014 Because there are several other factors that make a game financially successful. It not as simple as how good or bad it is. Going by that logic would mean that Dabangg 2 and Krrish 3 would be the greatest movies mankind has ever created, but it is not the case. This is the reason that total mockery of human senses games like COD:G make sale records while very good and thoughtful games like tomb raider and sleeping dogs failed financially. In this particular case it was the hate of the fan-boys who could not get over the fact that this was a fun reboot to the series. While these series "Purist" are surely entitled to their opinion of a game, they really spoiled the experience for others players. Hitman Absolution was a reboot to the franchise that brought many changes, i a huge fan of the original series did not like that game at all, it deviated from what made "Hitman" unique compared to other stealth games, but many other really liked the game as a good stealth game not particularly a good Hitman game. This is just the case with DmC, you might not like it as a DMC game because of the emotional attachment to the series but it is a really good action game and there are no two ways to it. Like it was already said , many people did not like the combat. It was not as good as the previous ones , not even a 60 FPS game. If you feel its a great game then you are of course entitled to your opinion. But in their attempt to screw the old fanbase and build a newer bigger one with the reboot. It failed , clearly not many newer players bought it. It sold 1/4th of what DMC4 sold. And dont forget how big the PS3/360 user base is in 2013 compared to 2008.
