Same here. Reached the end of the year (Dec.-Jan) and did not progress beyond for almost an entire year just because of not wanting the game to end (along with being unable to do the last fishing SL, but still).

I did the same, 2.5 years for me :P

P3 was a bit darker compared to P4 but P4 improved in almost all department, just like a good sequel should.

Persona 5 delayed to April 4th in the West.

To make up for this, it seems they are going to give free JPN voices DLC when it launches (English voice acting is already on disc)

Also it seems there is a free Ryuji dynamic theme in Persiona 5 website (for a limited time) and avatars on the PSN store (US I guess)

Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled youth who live dual lives. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high-schooler – attending class, after school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self;” the game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

Persona 5 will release on April 4. in the Americas and Europe, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The game is rated M by the ESRB.

Persona 5 is, in every essence of its carved-out blend of the JRPG and slice-of-life genre, a Persona game; just like its widely adored predecessors Persona 4 and Persona 3. But even more so, it’s a showcase of unmatchable lavish style. As if its developers saw the praise of the pristine design that permeated within Persona 3, Persona 4, and Catherine, and proceeded to say, “Hold my drink,” before cooking up something even more jaw-dropping. The result is a game where just its menus will dazzle you, but it's everything else that takes your breath away.

It may have taken a while, but Persona 5 is well worth the wait. We didn’t even get to talk about the various new activities after school you can participate in and the Social Stats that help determine your capabilities both in school and in relationships. This is a familiar formula has been iterated upon greatly, creating an RPG for the ages. We’re incredibly eager to talk more about Persona 5, but you’ll have to wait for our full review shortly before its release.

Persona 5 is not trying to change or reinvent what made the series beloved by so many fans, but it layers wit, style and smart design over every facet to make the most intuitive and player-friendly version yet.

Highs : Incredible style, Improvements to combat, Dungeons designed by humans, Addictive social links system, Engrossing story

Persona 5 has me grinning from ear to ear. Persona 5 feels like the culmination of Atlus’ learnings over Persona 3, Persona 4, Catherine, and the modern Shin Megami Tensei games on 3DS. It feels like a grown up Persona experience that isn’t trying to hide anything or appeal to a wider audience by losing its identity like a certain big name Japanese release.

Persona offers a sense of rhythm unlike any other game. It’s weird, yet compelling, and once you get settled into the flow it’s hard to put down. And Persona 5 eases you into that flow better than any game in the series. If it can keep that up for the entire experience, this might be the game to finally make Persona a household name.

There are still dozens of hours of the game left, but it’s shaping up to be one of the best JRPGs I’ve ever played. The structure is refreshing, the presentation is stylish, and the acid jazz soundtrack burrows into your brain until you’re humming the OST while washing the pots. Persona 5 starts off slow, but it soon has you walking at its speed. I can’t wait to stroll along with it some more.
