Sony Launches PS4 For 40k In India, Available from 6th Jan

Last week, Sony had announced that they were going to host a media event in New Delhi, in which we expected Sony to reveal some details about the release date and price details of PS4 in India. Just moments ago, Sony has officially announced the launch of its highly awaited PlayStation 4 console in India at an event in New Delhi. PlayStation 4 will retail in the stores with a hefty price tag of Rs 39,990 and will be available in all stores across India starting from 6th January, 2014 and consumers can pre-order it online on all major e-commerce stores across India.

Sony’s PS4 packs a solid eight-core AMD Jaguar/Kabini x86-64 CPU coupled with a 1.84 Teraflop AMD Radeon 7870 derived GPU and 8 GB of GDDR5 memory. Some other important features of PS4 are a 500GB of hard drive space and connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Aux, Gigabit Ethernet socket, HDMI out, a S/PDIF digital optical output and 2 USB ports


Playstation 4′s DualShock controller weighs about 210 grams which includes a two point touch pad, six axis Move motion sensor, a light bar and a share button which would allow gamers to upload gameplay recordings and screenshots online.


Since PS4 launched on 15th, it sold out like hot pancakes and within 15 days, PS4 sold a staggering 2.1 million units worldwide. With Sony’s move in launching PS4 in India, Sony is closing the gap of selling 3 million PS4 consoles by the end of 2013.
