^ I somehow feel that if it would have been just a skill based system with no level system tying into making you 'faster' it would have been a more rewarding and immersive.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance; progress update (release-date pushback) and BETA announcement

Beginning early in 2016, Kingdom Come: Deliverance will move into beta.

The 'technical alpha' has been available to certain tiers of Kickstarter backer and anyone willing to spend $50 since October 2014, but beta is a much larger proposition, consisting of several quests from the main story, the first major battle of the game and about a fifth of the final world map. If you've been following the alpha for the past year, lead designer Viktor Bocan also pops on to enlighten us further about the implementation of the current alpha build's crime system, emphasising the freedom to rob, stab and wreak havoc as you jolly well choose (although excessive murder will break the game right now). Add to that some discussion of how the soundtrack will adapt to your actions, and it really is no surprise that Warhorse had to push the release date back to summer.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance; release date pushed back and combat video-log

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the most interesting Kickstarter-funded projects to date: an open world, medieval RPG with no fantasy elements and realistic swordfighting. Chris Thursten played the game earlier this week and came away impressed, writing that it looks like "it's heading for cult classic status".

Still, it looks like the game might not make its "summer 2016" release window. That's probably to be expected for a game of this scale from an independent studio, but according to a Eurogamer interview with the game's PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwiling, the planned console versions could factor into a possible delay.

"The idea was to release the game in the summer and then to follow up with the console versions," Stolz-Swiling said. "Right now we are still indie developers but we are in negotiations with publishers to, well, we need someone to bring the games into the shops, so we need a distributor, and he kind of wants us to synch it with the console versions. We are still in negotiations, we will see. Best case for you will be summer this year for the PC version and then with the follow-up for consoles; or if the publisher wants us to synch it we will release everything let's say by the end of the year, so we will see about that."

I dont get whats realistic about it. They are so slow even i can run and swing a sword faster than that.

How you all are experts in medieval warfare.

You don't need to be an expert to know you can be fast with a sword if you keep swinging it everyday. :P

The medieval armies were not like today's standing professional units. They generally were filled with conscripts who were not exactly your swing a sword everyday types.

Plus, if you think it is easy to learn how to swing a sword you can start from today. Let me know when you feel you are confident enough to swing it accurately.

Like the developers of this game were alive during medieval times.

They are definitely investing more time and effort to understand in that era than you and I are currently expending.

I'm not talking about putting any efforts here. Anyone who's somewhat fit can run and swing a sword faster than that. The dipiction of sword fight in video doesn't feel too realistic. Sure the lot of medival units might not have been trained regularly but they would do a lot more physical labour compared to average man today. They would be stronger and faster.

They should have invested a lot of time to do this but intuitively it doesn't feel right.

And btw there is only 1-2 min of combat in that 20 min video. Stupid fking ign always baiting with wrong titles.
