RyuKeD
Hi, Has there ever been or is there an/a embedded chat applet/route to chat with the community out here at IVG? I know we have teamspeak but that's different. I just wanted to check - considering the community that we have here a chat extension; would it kill the forum aspect of the community? Is that why no one ever thought about it? What I'm talking about is something like an IRc channel maybe? #droppedoutofthecybercafealert! Sorry if this has been discussed before. Heaven Angel
It was there. But during last community update, they removed it. (dead for 6+ months now). Regarding IRC/chat channels, we members create one during big events (E3/Wrestlemania/etc) and have some fun.
spindoctor
We use to have a chat applet on the forum called the shoutbox. Not sure why it's gone now. Back in the day it was the source of hilarity mild amusement.
RyuKeD
Hi, Why not have a channel as a standalone constant go-to store of other IVG members? Making something up isn't too difficult. If people would bother is another thing too. Just needed to know if this is something that needs an approval or can it be considered a community initiative? piper
If only people would Teamspeak.
phreak
It slows down our sweet li'l forum.
RyuKeD
..sure Teamspeak is an awesome way to get together but this is for when you don't feel like talking but still communicating. We have those who may not be able to speak freely but can communicate on text! Just an added option; a suggestion.
RyuKeD
It slows down our sweet li'l forum. Very valid. If this was the reason we never went this way; then yeah, don't want it to affect the forums. However I doubt if a place like this can be that easily moved

There is a Shoutbox channel for this very purpose, if you don't/can't talk, just type.

AtheK
I think we should try to get back shoutbox and see how it works, but in last few months of its existence it was pretty much dead, except very few members using it.
RyuKeD
Hi, IMHO; an option like IRc is free and if promoted can bring the peeps together Not sure though. Just saying. Most people may not bother to download a client, install it, type a few commands and get on! I am not sure how Shoutbox was an option. What I'm talking about here is something like this:
Heaven Angel
X-Chat (using the same. Default theme though). IRC won't work well with small community (ie. with 50-100 online) Bring back the shoutbox.

Just connecting to one of them like DALnet and having a channel Just to clarify. 50/100 users at a time = MAYHEM!

Nr.Draca47
Well you guys could make the shoutbox in TS as default. I think we all have almost unlimited connection and keep the TS channel minimised all the time. Or maybe we could start chatting in steam under IVG group as steam can opened during game on a pc and console, plus steam is always on all the time. Whatcha you guys think, practically?
