Tyler
The prospecting mini-game is better on the PC version, at least you can move the beacon faster thanks to the mouse. On the 360 version it moves at a snails pace while you're scanning...

On the 360 version it moves at a snails pace while you're scanning... It is painfully slow on the 360 version. Came across the article on this game and while I haven't played a lot, I must say he mentions quite a few valid points. http://www.infoaddict.com/the-many-failures-of-mass-effect-

reaper
me imported level 47,any particular planets most of them dont have element zero have patience!!! search!! thats teh easiest way to find that goddamn element. u dont ind it on most planets .. cos its rare .. else we would have been using it on earth right now .. BTW .. scanning is so much better than exploring teh planet with a Mako ... im so happy the Normandy 1 crashed
Tyler
But in ME1, you could scan many of the planets by just pressing a button. And yeah, babloos be patient, you'll find it eventually. Like reaper said, it's the rarest of the four elements. I usually always took a break and scanned like 3 to 4 planets after every major mission. That way I found everything I needed. Tyler
It is painfully slow on the 360 version. Came across the article on this game and while I haven't played a lot, I must say he mentions quite a few valid points. http://www.infoaddict.com/the-many-failures-of-mass-effect-2 I'm reading it now but from the opening paragraph the writer comes off as a hater. Sure the game has some flaws but they do not kill the game and are minor nitpicks at best. It's surely not a "7" game. And he complains about all aliens speaking english. This was explained in the first game's Codex itself. What a dumb-a*s! There are some valid point but most of the stuff he complains about are optional. If he did not like the hacking interface then don't do it dammit! ME2 is not the first game to have hacking mini-games. By that logic he should really hate System Shock 2 and Bioshock. Also, people need to realize and accept that Mass Effect has now evolved into a new kind of RPG. It's not KOTOR or Dragon Age or a traditional RPG (there are many of them out there, go play Risen or Drakensang). EDIT: Damn! It's the Matrix Trilogy all over again... @reaper: In ME1, you also earned credits while scanning. But you're right though, the new research/upgrade system is good. It's far better to have more focused upgrades and research than the useless crap you kept finding all over in ME1.
Noctis
Just finished ME and starting on this in a few days. btw Does saving the council or not in ME 1 make much difference in ME 2's story?
Tyler
btw Does saving the council or not in ME 1 make much difference in ME 2's story? I could give you an answer but it's better that you don't spoil yourself with too much info before you start with ME2.
