Dude, ME2 is a lot better if you are playing it for the story. Without that it may just seem like a standard third-person cover shooter. It's not a separate chapter but a direct continuation of the first game and will lead into the final part of the ME trilogy. You will be lost during many of the conversations (yes it's still very conversation heavy, only the combat has been revamped to resemble that of a shooter). I'm sure you won't enjoy the game as much as others did.

If possible, try to play the first game (at least breeze through it on easy without doing side quests etc). It will make your ME2 experience far better.

Great news nonetheless ....btw is this mission connected from the end of me2 or just a side quest type mission. :ranting:

It will continue the story but rather than progress linearly through the story arc, it will be a sort of extra-curricular activity. There's even some sort of lyalty mission for the Hammerhead, making me think that it could be a vital part of ME3. Could explain why Bioware's giving it away for free.

Awesome. :unsure:

instead of this short dlcs,bioware should release some 15 hours expansion pack like dragon age that too this year,some side arc like liara and shadow broker quest or some prothean or reaper research :ranting:

It depends how they do it..I honestly want it but fear that it could just turn out to be dragging the story..... :nerves:

It's free only for Cerberus network members .. so those who don't have it needs to buy that first.

cerberus network was given to everyone who bought a new copy..it is just that one can use it only once...so if the person sells it the second hand buyer will need to buy cerberus network @$ 15 i think.

Cerberus Network is free for all first hand buyers of the game. Its not a CE feature.

@Milo: Where's my CE? :ranting:

played for some 4-5 hours. The game is good, but I guess its not an "RPG" anymore. There's no xp to be earned anywhere and you get a fixed 1000 xp after every mission. You just get credit for hacking stuff. Exploring the dialog tree isn't helpful in the xp regard either. Looks like the devs doesn't want you to grind your way at all. Also, most of the painful parts of the first game like inventory management are done for, which is quite a relief. I wish they had refined the squad combat though, its still as clunky as the first one, but the AI partners seem to be a bit more intelligent this time around.

Overall, even with its stripped down RPG mechanics, the game looks very interesting in the story department. And the new additions have made the game a lot better in the gameplay dept.

duuuuuuuuuuude. XP can be earned from side quests and small quests. Grinding is minimized to help with pacing - since there's no XP associated with killing enemies the player would prefer to complete the mission - which is a good system. Keeps the story tight. Dialogue tree in the fist ME was also pretty much a sham - it's an interesting implementation but actually choices are limited. DAO has more choices and they make a tangible impact.

Try out the squad combat by mapping the left and right buttons and use them in conjunction with the bumper / face buttons. I found it incredibly fast and satisfying - no holding a bumper to select powers anymore. Powers were cast and combined on the fly most of the time.

I just wish they git rid of the mini-games altogether.

i just wish they take out planet scanning for resources completely. Otherwise it is an amazing game.

I have rachni queen in ME1. she has sent a message also. But i didn't see it coming anywhere in the missions. Though i havent completed all the sub missions yet. Does it really come in any mission. Also they should hve made the final battle worth. Like it was with Saren in ME1. If the final battle is not the toughest then the game looses some part of its sheen for me atleast :(
