Yeah I know , but I just that I don't want to lose focus midway if it gets boring due to same type of linear environments, cause one of the main reasons I like RPG's is cause u get to explore small or big different towns and cities. I know that Mass Effect 2 is not open world RPG , but just want to know will I get to see a few cities , like we get to see in Star Wars movies. spindoctor Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 I know that Mass Effect 2 is not open world RPG , but just want to know will I get to see a few cities , like we get to see in Star Wars movies. there are a couple of hubs which you can explore a bit, but they are fairly small. the rest of the areas are even smaller. as a reference point, there is no zone in me2 which is even close to being as big as the citadel in me1. and i don't want to spoil it for you, but personally i felt the citadel in me2 was one of the biggest disappointments in the game. Tyler Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 As an RPG, yes the freedom is limited. But Mass Effect 2 is a game that benefits from the tighter structure. The focus remains on the narrative and the characters which is easily the game's strongest area. The updated combat mechanics are simply the icing on the cake. If you love your space operas, it doesn't get any better than ME2 as far as video games go. There are still a lot of random side missions you can do if you wish. Took me 39 hours , i played it slowly , explored as much as i could,recruited my entire squad , pretty much swept the game. This game is just too awsome. A damn shame that i havent played mass effect 1 . I think ill play through this game once again before i can start with mass effect 1. Liked the way the game ended , they way u split teams on the collector's base (a shame i had to loose 3 mates ) . So....there is going to be a mass effect 3 right?? ha, Mass Effect is way more better than Mass Effect 2. The best part is the plot, Mass Effect has one of the best written plot in video games, and a superb twist at the end. The JACKAL Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 Started the 1st few minutes ME2 yesterday , feels exactly like playing Gears of War in sci-fi world , Graphics are awesome , runs at 60+fps at max settings @ 1680x1050 resolution.
