Character import isn't really a deal cause regardless of what you did in ME1....the game (by default) will always make your character act like the biggest a**hole alive in the galaxy.

So I doubt PS3 gamers would miss any of that, however this is something which they'll miss:

you have totally new line of characters in this game....the importing part from mass effect 1 only brings in some previous related things from the game does not cover main characters...I dont want to start all over again...but i believe Tyler had very good comment on this that is ....Mass effect 2 is one superb experience on its own but playing after mass effect 1 makes it even better experience.

completed mass effect 2 like two times in row long time back .havent touched it again,it really spoiled me,every game looked sh*t after this one few exceptions like gow3,alan wake e.t.c

 

i have been waiting for all dlcs to release and start everything fresh .now this ps3 version comes up f**king ea beeches.playing with new charecter all along i wont get same feel, having played mass effect 1 and making all the decisions and stuff,even though there wont be much affecting the game still i wont get the same feel with new charecter

ps3 version is a way to give ps3 owners a chance to play this brilliant game...if you think you cannot enjoy the ps3 version then its okay to continue with the other systems...also the dlc are available on other system too.

what i want to know is whether there will be an ultimate edition of me2 for the pc like they did with dragon age. definitely want to play through the game again with all addon content, and i'm waiting for a steam sale on the game to rebuy it. an ultimate edition would be pretty handy to have, especially if all the dlc was delivered through steam instead of standalone downloads.

Nothing has been confirmed yet .. But it will have dlc .. New or old is not known ..

I bought ME2 on PC a week ago from the EA store when it was on sale (for 500 bucks). I installed the game today only to realize that I don't have a cerberus network code....wtf ?

Now, I checked the email that EA sent me after my purchase & this is what it says regarding the Cerberus network code:

Mass Effect 2 for PS3 also includes the previously released downloadable content Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armor on the Blu-ray disc. The Zaeed and Firewalker content is also accessible through the Cerberus Network.

There will also be exclusive free and paid downloadable content for the PS3 version, such as the Recon Operations Pack, and bundled content like the Aegis Pack.

 

Houston also clarified the reported "6 hour exclusive mission" saying it was all a translation error.

 

"This I believe is a communication error lost in translation," he said. "When we talk about 6 hours of content we are talking about what's included exclusively 'On Disc' (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access."
