Mass Effect 2

'Sad' doesn't mean that it's not awesome. SH2 had a very sad ending but it's totally awesome in my book.

My complaint is that one of the ending has been spoiled by this thread.

Its allright. Im sure there is a lot we dont know about. I mean if Bioware themselves openly mentioned about the Death ending...there has to be much more under wraps. Jan 26th cant come soon enough. Most awesome Republic Day ever! :(

Bioware has been pimping the 'death' from the first trailer of ME2 - so not exactly a spoiler. I think they want people to explore this path.

The great thing about the official build up for the game is that Bioware has told everyone (right from that first Trailer) that Shep can die. BUT, no one knows how. just a few vague replies.

Brilliant marketing, and now that you know about it, think of it. It will build the game up more for ya.

sh*t, i had continued my second playthrough with the same character, trying to get the 'renegade' achievement and made several choice which I wouldn't have made otherwise. However, I haven't finished the campaign on the second playthrough. Will I have to start ME 2 from scratch or can I load my first playthrough somehow ?

All you pansies cribbing about the death ending spoiler should realize that Bioware revealed this before E3, so direct your hate to Dr. Ray Muzyka.

Every game ending has a separate saved profile on the X360, so ME2 will scan your saves and let you choose which one you want to load. But this will only happen if you have completed the game with that profile, so if you want to retain your earlier decisions as a Paragon, do not complete the game in your current playthrough.

Yes and Yes.

Character import - though you wont get to play with say a maxed out Character from the beginning, still you will get an advantage in class based skill points and paragon/ renegade level based on your ME1 character.

Decisions - a lot of decisions are being carried fwd. Major and minor.

based on my ME1 saves, i foresee atleast 4/5 different ways my story will pan out in ME2.

that's exciting and like the Death of the main character(optional) - its a very welcoming change, want to how the story preceded after this, even there should be an option in between the game where the main character can be dead n u can take up someone secondary character or watch cutscene how the story without the main character - it will be super awesome

The only thing I've seen of ME2 so far is the very first gameplay footage (the showed Shep and Co. shooting their way through a building) and some screenshots here and there. I haven't read any previews or the official Bioware website or watched any other trailers. So yeah, I am still unaware of most of the plot. I did know that it was a possibility the he could die. But now it's more or less confirmed.

@DevilsOwn: Yes it would still be awesome to find out under what circumstances it happens but I still wish I hadn't known.

Also, just because the studio tells you that, it doesn't make it "okay". It has happened with several movies and games.

Mass Effect 2 review: Another one lands

Xbox World 360 issues its verdict on big BioWare sequel

Another Mass Effect 2 review has arrived in the form of Xbox World 360's 6-page verdict, which is on newsstands today.

BioWare's big sequel is "arguably the best RPG in recent years," reads the positive 90% verdict, which praises Mass Effect 2's "magnificent characters" and "actual role-playing," while moaning that the main narrative "takes time".

"Mass Effect 2 may not have quite the depth and consequences of Dragon Age - although it's impossible to tell, as both games contain so many variables - but it's the more polished and confident of the two."
