Mass Effect 2

Nah uh.

I know for certain that in my first run I didn't do (almost) any side-quests and ended up at 12-13 hours. In the subsequent play-through I did a lot of the side quests and still ended up under 17 hours.

Weird. All my ME playthroughs were between 35-45 hours. And I always did every single side quest (including the collection ones) every time. Then again, I rarely ever rushed through the game.

The dialog itself takes a significant amount of time. And no matter how hard I tried I could never skip the conversations in this game. The voice acting/script is just that good.

sh*t, i had continued my second playthrough with the same character, trying to get the 'renegade' achievement and made several choice which I wouldn't have made otherwise. However, I haven't finished the campaign on the second playthrough. Will I have to start ME 2 from scratch or can I load my first playthrough somehow ?

???

Mass Effect Trilogy to finish on the Xbox 360

Mass Effect 2 project director Casey Hudson has revealed that the Mass Effect trilogy will see out the Xbox 360, and the third instalment will not arrive on the next Xbox. Speaking in a video interview with GameZone, Hudson said;

"That was always the intention. You get the Xbox 360 or your PC, but the Xbox 360 is the one that's going to run out of time at some point, and you create your character and play through an entire trilogy on that platform"

Mass Effect 2 is out for Xbox 360 and PC at the end of the month, starting with a US release date of January 26, and January 29 in Europe.

----

I hope this doesn't necessarily mean the end of the franchise, though.

Answered on the previous page.

Read better.

Okay, I checked the saved game slot on my HDD and i have several saves but there is only 1 save from my first playthrough which I had made manually when I was in ILOS. The rest of the saves are of the 2nd playthrough which I have not completed. So, do I have to finish the campaign from ILOS again?

Cereberus Network and DLC revealed

BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), today revealed ‘The Cerberus Network’, an in-game portal in Mass Effect 2 that will keep fans engaged with the rich and dynamic Mass Effect universe through downloadable content (DLC) and news. ‘The Cerberus Network’ is activated exclusively by original purchasers of Mass Effect 2 through a single-use unlock code that comes included in retail and digital versions of the game worldwide.

So, no DLC for used game purchases. Thanks EA.

DLCs

Pack 1 - New squad mate available on launch day.

Players who access ‘The Cerberus Network’ will receive the first DLC pack on January 26th (launch day in North America) featuring new missions and in-game items. Included in this pack is a mission that introduces Zaeed, a rugged and deadly gun-for-hire who is recruited to join Commander Shepard’s mission to save mankind.

Pack 2 - New vehicle, new armor and new weapon

After launch, BioWare will release another DLC pack for Mass Effect 2 that introduces the Hammerhead, a new vehicle in the Mass Effect universe. This agile hover tank features improved handling on rough terrain and maneuvers deftly in combat -- a necessity for players traveling across harsh planetary environments throughout the galaxy. In addition to this new vehicle, BioWare will release new missions and unique in-game items, including Cerberus Assault Armor which boost shields, health and heavy weapon ammo and the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun.

They haven't mentioned whether the DLCs will be free. If I have to pay for Pack 1, I will be very pissed indeed :threatenlumber:

^ The Cerberus Network will be offered as a free download to those who purchase a new copy of Mass Effect 2, redeemable by way of a packed-in code. Those who pick up a used copy of the game can gain access to the bonus content after purchasing The Cerberus Network for a one-time charge.

EDIT: Added used copy details.

You can't use your PC save file with the 360 version of the game, unfortunately.

And we don't know how they're gonna handle the game changing decisions either.

MT?
