SchizoidFreud
If u can manually enter ur ip address/dns settings on the ps3, do the following :- 1. Go to RUN on your computer through the START menu. 2. Type CMD 3. When you're in DOS, type ipconfig/all 4. Note down your IP address, Default Gateway, The Primany DNS and The Secondary DNS. Go to the option in the ps3 where u have to enter the stuff manually and try connecting
Ad1tya
Dont share your no. on the WWW. Now.. What do you mean by Router?.. Hathway comes in the Cable wire, connected to a Modem, which inturn has a Cat5e Cable from it to the PC right?. So your connection the Modem to the Router, and setting the IP's ?.. Access the Router (usually http://192.168.0.1 username : admin password : password, or whatever your login details are) set the IP's and set the DNS Server IP's, etc. Turn on DHCP, if you havent. DHCP should take care of everything and your PS3 should work online easy.

I'd checked my settings DHCP is ON and rest details have been entered as in my pc's ipconfig... still not connecting...same DNS error

godspeed4476
well if u go by my expirence with hathway, u r ablity to get online with ur console depends purely on u r luck........i used to have a hathway connection some time back for my 360, for 3 days in a week it showed DNS address as failed and then autmotaically it used to start working without changing any settings.........so my suggestion would be to change u r ISP, ( my expirience is with 360, i dont know how the PS3 network works)
Ad1tya
What kind of login client do you have?.. Is it PPPoE?.. If so, you need to setup your connection in the Netgear router as one requiring a login, and put in the Username / Password there. Verify that the internet works on your PC, if it does, then it should work on the PS3 flawlessly.
