No no, I meant, the doc said to stop using domex, lizol etc while cleaning and swabbing the floor of the house. And to start using dettol or savlon. I usually let my dogs inside the house a lot, so now I'm getting second thoughts about that. Or else i'll have to start using dettol wherever they run about. He's recommended a course of some particular sulphur lotion for 2 weeks. Hopefully the patches disappear

try Betadine. The vet recommended me this when my dog had some patches forming, hairless ones.

Thanks Dabba. Actually, Simba is not my pet. I dont own him.

He is my family friend's pet but I get him home on weekends, or visit him so often to play with him.... He feels quite left out these days since now they have an infant to take care off so enjoys my attention all the more :)

I have clicked a lot of his pictures.. will share with you all sometimes..

for young pups if the food is too concentrated (pure milk/meat) they could be having an allergic reaction to it as well

hope they recover soon :)

@Deathstryke - This was why I said back then "dilute the milk with a bit of warm (not hot) water".

Wow.. U have a GS??? :exoticdance:

:fear:

Btw is Simba your own lab? How come you never mentioned him till now?

I guess this has been answered. Didn't see it before.

Gaurav, not giving milk anymore. As advised by my vet, just giving royal canine soaked in some water. They r liking that and so I'll stick to it. Stopped giving milk long time back.

Anyway, the doc is saying maybe its a reaction to the rabies shot the dogs just got. Or the rising temperatures. I'll still wait and do as he says with fingers crossed. I hope I can atleast control it, hopefully the hair will grow back.

Simba faced the same last year. The Doc took various tests. There was construction going on the roads then, so it seems he was allergic to cement. Also Mumbai humidity added to it. His medication continued for 6 months and now his coat and skin is completely ok. If you are based out of Mumbai, I can share the Vet's Contact details.

To maintain Cactus coat early on we used to give him cod liver oil / shark oil or whatever oil that is (Seven Seas stuff). Very little (half a spoon each day). Regular brushing.

These days he also gets a massage every other day with Elaadhi Thailam (Ayurvedic stuff) on the doctor's recommendation.

Hey Guys..

This is a request from a dear friend. He owns a very handsome German Shephard named Simba. (see picture)

Trouble is, my friend has recently shifted to Mumbai and his apartment in Mumbai is too small and captivating for Simba. Also my friend's working hours keep him too occupied and so he is not able to give enough time to simba. I know, it is a very sad thing and yeah.. i am very upset about it too as I am sure, it will be very tough for the poor dog to leave my friend and get settled in a new household, but I guess this is what is required.

If you or someone you know, would like to adopt Simba, my friend will be very grateful. He is looking at a Family with a bigger apartment and those who have had a pet earlier.

Simba is 4 years old, very active and a sweetheart.

Please pm me or write here if you know of any such family or farm house or such thing where my friend can leave Simba.
