Most of them are about saving the world, saving the galaxy, rescuing the girl but SH2 goes into totally uncharted territories when it comes to video game storytelling. No other game has made me sit and stare at the screen for a good 15 minutes after the game was over just thinking about what I had experienced. As much as I like Torment, Fallout, Mass Effect, StarCraft, The Witcher, Half-Life etc for their plots, SH2 is a cut above above the rest for me. Pyrotek Posted June 5, 2008 Report Share Posted June 5, 2008 Max Payne. Fall of Max Payne was even better, IMO. Absolutely gripping stuff. Max Payne 1 redefined gaming for me personally, and with MP2, I was utterly in love with story based gaming. Second to the Max Payne franchise, Mafia. In fact, I'd even go out to mention the original Splinter Cell. I thought it was one tightly wound game. Of course, HALO: Combat Evolved is a classic that cannot be left out. It was the first FPS I actually liked. And what an amazing story... Right from the word 'Go' I was constantly motivated to move on just to see where it was all heading. Totally forgot about this one thanks . I thought I was the only one who hated Halo 2 and 3. Halo1 was awesome on so many levels, one of the best FPS games from last gen.
