Sach4life Posted February 21, 2014 Report Share Posted February 21, 2014 Hasn't played 1 & 2 yet and blames his ISP FUP for it, but wants 3 as a PS4 exclusive. If you can see, i already said that shenmue hd collection should be made available for ps3 before shenmue 3 comes on ps4. I am very much interested in playing the game and hd collection would be the best way to do so Though, in a month or so, i would download the dreamcast version of shenmue and would play it. IshmaelIsBack Posted February 21, 2014 Report Share Posted February 21, 2014 ^^ It is but depends. The official PAL version for DC had japanese audio with english subs. Xbox had english dub. Higher resolution ( 480p vs DC's 240p IIRC ) , Color filter and snapshots anywhere in the game. I somehow liked DC version's sharpness than on Xbox. But yeah playing again in english was refreshing, some places the dub was bad, specially for some characters like Ren. There were some cosmectic differences like signboards in english, extra inscriptions on arcade machines and jukeboxes etc but literally no difference in terms of visuals ( detail ). Maybe just that transparency thing when the environment is crowded with characters but I don't remember that clearly. However, the modding scene ripped the englsih dub from the Xbox version and re-released the DC version downsampled. It can be played on all dreamcasts and the nulldc emulator.
