Its not like we're going to get better roads and basic sanitation and a proper commute system that isn't built by British 150 years ago anytime soon, despite being the capital of highest tax paying state in India. Right Posted April 24, 2014 Report Share Posted April 24, 2014 I love the spirit of mumbai, the adversities people face in daily life and yet overcome them is tremendous. What I don't like is that it fails to unite against the problems. One of the biggest reasons is constant influx of people from all walks of life. And second is locales apathy to bring that change. On top of these the super-riches and a certain public which just doesn't give a f**k. Mumbai needs a revolution like AAP, not exactly like AAP but one that is connected to all and not only Marathi Manoos like SS. Cuz the political system is in so much rot, looking at systematic deletions of names from voter list, chances of a BJP led coalition on state level doesn't look possible. Also, since it went down the drain the work BJP-SS coalition did in its term. IIRC 96 flyovers and highways were done, and Nitin Gadkari was invited for a Tea by Ratan Tata, a super-duper rare gesture . I know, ideally it should not have been unlisted in the first place, but … well. And yep, have heard horror stories of mumbai's public transport, or even roads for that matter.
