^ I think that is the main reason for MicroSoft not launching the ONE here.

Although, in the future if they come into market with locked schemes with one or two select 'service' partners it will be as good as not launching.

Genuine curiosity: can someone please explain what that feature exactly is? I can connect my set-top box to my TV as it is and view all the channels that it has. Why would I like to pass it through the One?

I am buying mainly for kinect, big fan of it. However, since having this device wanted to explore other usages. Read someone has tried connecting TataSky with HDMI. But don't find a update on that thread, hence asked if anyone have given a try. Mine is SD model STB, don't have option to test unless I upgrade to HD.

One of these partners may be Airtel and the other ChataSky

Wow. Just, wow. How about try and give some useful feedback to a fellow forum user?

@OP: It works just fine. I have a NTSC (US) Xbox One Model and have my Tata Skty HD+ connected to it. The TV app works great and all the kinect commands work too.

The only down side, there is no One Guide Support yet. The only country that has one guide is US.

Switching channel with voice commands is a feature of one guide, which is not available in any region apart from US. So, NO. "Xbox Watch FTV" doesn't work yet :P

The commands that work are, Pause, Play, Volume up and Volume Down. There is also a feature where you can Turn On or Off all your connected devices using the kinect IR blaster.

The devices that can be controlled this way are your TV, Amp/HTS and DTH/Satellite Box.

Honestly, i use my Tata Sky for watching football over the weekends. So connecting it through the ONE doesn't bother me. Plus, this frees up a an HDMI input on my AMP.

So you wanted a "fellow forum member" to spend money & upgrade to Tatar sky HD(for port)

Just so that he can increase/decrease volume

Pls act more responsibly & don't lead someone to false belief

He didn't ask him to do anything. He just told him what works and what doesn't...

Are you serious ?

Really? Ur stupidity is very amusing. But it is getting old now.

Give it up man. What you wrote, saying that it doesn't work is incorrect.

Does it work? YES. To what end, I have explained. The rest is up to him. Also the reason to buy the one is to play games on it. Everything else is just gravy. Savy?

Wow. I give up man. Too late in the night.

I am sorry, i can't give simple yes and no answers. So i tried explaining what it is all about. I guess, it is to much for you to take in.

@OP: Trust you have got the answers that you are looking for. To summarise, Tatasky works through the HDMI in. You can watch it using the TV app on the one. The Kinect voice commands for changing channels doesn't work. No ETA on the feature. This only works in the USA.

Don't you know that on the interwebz you are responsible and can be put to death for anything you answer ask someone else to buy, especially if it's something the folks in Redmond make :P

As much as it's 'a glorified remote control', the way Kinect is integrated with the system makes it really easy to control everything (not just TV) with just your voice, no controller and no remote required (yes, I have the new remote too). A lot of people might think it's not worth when they're purchasing it but once you're used to it, going back to just a remote or controller is hard. I really want the OneGuide feature to go global soon enough.

BTW L33T, this morning I was trying to connect and play with you guys (and the new party system worked perfectly) but I guess you guys just finished up a game of PvZ, so it didn't let me join immediately. Left cos it was late for work, I'll catch you online some other time.

That is ever so thoughtful of you Ank. I will leave it at that too :)

@OP:Another thing that you can do, is snap TV. So you can play a game and have the TV on at the same time.

I do this over the weekends while playing BF4 and watching football at the same time. It is exactly like a PIP.

I really do recommend that you check out some more articles on the xbox one before you buy it. And if you do buy it, then add me as a friend on XBL :D

 The amount of BS in this post is more than PS4 WW sales.
