^ It is not pitch black for starters, there is a lot of light interaction in almost all media released till now for the game. All this means multiple light sources are being used and interacting with each other which would be simplified if a single major source was illuminating everything but that is not the case.

Also, are you on NGF?

This I can only comment on when I see some more gameplay footage.. But again graphically I don't see much of a leap to call it a next gen game and I don't know whether the game at 60 fps on consoles. Game play wise I am excited about the bat mobile.. But seeing how GTA 5 has lower requirements than this game.. I call BS :)

and yea I am on NGF ^_^

GTA V was done on the last generation consoles, you have to take that into account.

even UE3 can be argued to be the last gen engine in that case. the game looks really good on both the next gen and the PC.. as a standalone PC game it looks really good with all the distance scaling, soft shadows, high res textures .. I don't think batman will have that kind of filtering and detailing(nothing wrong with that). This is all a speculation though and could be a ploy by nvidia to get ppl to buy new cards..(which I really hope is the case).. personally I hate it when the requirements make it look as if the game is the next "crysis". ..

^ UE 3 might be a last generation engine that does not mean Rocksteady cannot develop their own modules or render techniques from it.

We have not seen the actual game graphic options on PC so cannot comment on whether it is being overblown or is it actually legit. Although because this game is being released only next-generation consoles and PC the V-RAM requirements do make sense.

The PC market works on the model of selling more hardware vis-á-vis console, where the software is raking in the money and damn straight nVidia would want to tempt you into upgrading your cards for it.

R* spent a lot of time and money optimizing the game for PCs of all ranges of specs.

Rocksteady on the other hand may not have the same budget or priorities with consoles being the primary focus. Remember, for AAA games, good PC ports are an exception not the rule.
